Marquise Goodwin in first place in qualifying round, has qualified for finals

Goodwin LEADS the long jumpers in the first qualifying round and has already notched a spot in the finals with a jump of 8.11 meters.

Hook'em all the way to London and back to Texas!!!!!!!

I tried to catch it on tv on my lunch breakat a sports bar but none of the channels showing the Olympics had track & field on. Watched dressage horse event and table tennis instead whil keeping up with Goodwin on my phone. BTW that girl we put up in table tennis sucked. She got slaughtered.

He killed it today. Only had to jump one time while most of these guys defaulted on several jumps. He should medal but I want the gold!

Well, Goodwin didn't advance but he still showed well and made Americans and Longhorns alike proud as hell.

Now get back to Austin and get the pads on!

Awesome, watched a documentary on him last night. Wish he could have medaled at the last Olympics, had winning distance jumps prior to the big event. Hope he succeeds with this Olympics! Great kid, puts his family first. Amazing he can not train specifically for the long jump and not miss a beat.
