OAN is a far right news organization that perpetuates falsehoods. And they are no friend to reporting the issues going on with police bias & racism. So Chubba decided he didn’t agree with the shirt and what it represents. Good for him.
I looked up OAN on Google and never found that. I‘ve never heard of them.

So I went back to Google and found it. Originally I must have typed in something other than OAN. My bad.

Gundy can do wear what wants to away from work, however recruits can go to other schools besides Oklahoma State. The remake he made about Covid 19 shows why Gundy is not coaching at a blue blood school.

A shirt worn by Oklahoma State’s Mike Gundy could spark a revolt by his players

OAN, which Gundy has publicly praised, is a far-right cable network that fervently supports President Trump and regularly promotes conspiracy theories. A host on the network has called the Black Lives Matter “a farce.”

Some of their work.

Coronavirus outbreak conspiracy theories

Further information: Misinformation related to the COVID-19 pandemic
In March 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, the OANN chief White House correspondent Chanel Rion promoted a conspiracy theory that the virus originated in a North Carolina lab, citing information from a "citizen investigator and a monitored source amongst a certain set of the DC intelligence community" who was actually a Twitter conspiracy theorist. As she cited this individual during a televised report from the White House grounds, an image was displayed of actor Keir Dullea in the film 2001: A Space Odyssey. She also asserted that Dr. Anthony Fauci, who was the White House's leading expert on infectious diseases, had funded the creation of the coronavirus.[72][73] Rion later claimed without evidence that other mainstream media outlets were parroting Communist Party of China propaganda.[74] During a press conference with Trump, she asked him whether it was "racist" to use the term "Chinese food" and continued:

major left-wing news media—even in this room—have teamed up with Chinese Communist Party narratives and they’re claiming you’re racist for making these claims about 'Chinese virus.' Is it alarming that major media players, just to oppose you, are consistently siding with foreign state propaganda, Islamic radicals and Latin gangs and cartels? And they work right here at the White House with direct access to you and your team?[72][75][76]

Rion previously worked as a political cartoonist, and had among other things promoted murder of Seth Rich conspiracy theories and written an anti-feminist children's book.[72][77] She without evidence claimed that former FBI lawyer Lisa Page and former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe were involved in an affair.[78] OANN later retracted the story.[78]

In April 2020, Rion was expelled from the White House Correspondents Association and her formal seat was removed for flagrantly violating newly implemented social distancing rules in the James S. Brady Press Briefing Room.[3] Despite this, Rion has boasted she was personally invited to attend by press secretary Stephanie Grisham a day after the ban.[79]

During May 2020, Kristian Rouz created a package for OAN in which he claimed the existence of “mounting evidence of a globalist conspiracy” involving the Clintons, Soros, Bill Gates, Dr. Anthony Fauci, and the Chinese government. No evidence exists for any of this.[80] (He also compiled the wholly fabricated story OANN ran in 2017 alleging that Hillary Clinton's political action committee secretly gave $800,000 to Antifa.)[11][80]

Killing of George Floyd protests

Main article: George Floyd protests
In June 2020, during protests against racism and police brutality in the wake of the killing of George Floyd, OANN reporter Jack Posobiec falsely claimed that there were pipe bombs planted at the Korean War Memorial in Washington D.C., and that "federal assets [were] in pursuit". There were no pipe bombs, nor is there any evidence that any "federal assets" pursued it.[81]

Buffalo police shoving incident

Main article: Buffalo police shoving incident
That same month, OANN claimed without evidence that an elderly protester who had been brutally injured by police "was attempting to capture the radio communications signature of Buffalo police officers."[61] The OANN, again without evidence, linked the man to the Antifa movement. President Trump later posted a tweet alleging the protester "could be an ANTIFA provocateur", referencing OANN's unfounded conspiracy theory.[55][82][83]

The journalist behind OANN's story was Kristian Rouz.[60] Rouz himself did not provide any evidence, only referring to a report by The Conservative Treehouse, a right-wing blog,[84] which describes itself as a "Rag Tag Bunch of Conservative Misfits".[61]

So those stories show incompetence and headline chasing but 0 racism. Every news outlet has been shown to make mistakes. All of them called the virus a nothing at the beginning of January and said it was no worse than the flu. I understand not trusting them but I don’t see racism

I agree with you. Does OAN openly support the KKK or white nationalist?  I understand all news media has a bias and an agenda, so I’m not asking if they kiss Trump’s ass. Do they openly support racism?
No they don’t openly support racism. I’m sure you knew that because if they did, Gundy wouldn’t wear the shirt unless he was looking to have recruits and players avoid him. But they deal in falsehoods about issues that affect African Americans. People really should be on here questioning what a player thinks is worth protesting. I’ve seen so many people on here ready to burn down everything over The Eyes. If a player doesn’t want to be coached by someone supporting an organization they think is against them, that’s all good in my book.

Fauci said it was no worse than the flu through February.

Again, they are not gonna come out and say racist things. They still deal in bad faith about issues including things that negative affect the African American community.

hornsups

As you know I do not agree with doing away with the eyes. I do agree with renaming the buildings and taking down offensive statues.

People should not assume that those of us who do not want to do away with the eyes don’t support the players. I just think that demand is unreasonable and unnecessary.

One of the articles you posted had anything to do with Black America. I don’t watch OAN so I’m asking. I’ve seen CNN and other news stations report falsehoods that affect all of America, why don’t we get up in arms about them?

They have people who say BLM is a farce. That kinda goes counter to what’s going one right now, wouldn’t you say??

Yes and you know where I stand after we spoke. I’m just saying people can’t be in arms because they feel that The Eyes is sacred but then say that the shirt isn’t an issue. We can’t decide what’s important to someone.

I did not say the shirt is not an issue. I pointed out I had never heard of OAN.

@HornsUp This is a very, very dangerous precedent. This is an area I'm going to ask you to reconsider. I'm not familiar with this 'OON' network, but if it doesn't openly support racism then what you are really saying is that first amendment rights no longer apply. We can no longer associate with those who hold opposing views in society, and must all go into our separate camps.

This also fails the 'shoe on the other foot' test. Those who make extremist or racist type comments from the other side of the fence are not held to the same standard. Right now Al Sharpton is still being allowed as a civic leader though he spent years making anti-Semitic comments. Commentators from BET and other places that primarily represent minority views have those who have tweeted out, 'Kill all white people.'

You pull on this thread and pretty soon no one ever comes out again, even after covid goes away, because we all don't agree with each other 100%. It's time to start being more rational about this.

Yes, that is definitely counter productive at this point in time. They disagree with the movement or the people running it?

People can associate with whomever the choose. But people also have the right to say who they will not associate with & what they will not tolerate. Al Sharpton has said anti-Semitic things.. that’s your go to?? The POTUS has said anti-Semitic things. He has said racist things. So yeah people kinda say things and get to live their lives. It sucks. I know. You’re not gonna see me defend Al Sharpton or his words. That has nothing to do with a football player saying he will not be participating if the man he is suppose to follow is supporting something he feels is against his community & his beliefs.

OAN talking about BLM

That was 3 years ago. Does she still work there?  Was that after the cops in Dallas were massacred by a black man?

Yes, that is definitely counter productive at this point in time. They disagree with the movement or the people running it?
BLM is a movement. No one is running it. They have leaders sure but they don’t have monthly dues or monthly meetings. They said BLM is a farce. Sorry they didn’t clarify if they think the movement to get equality for African Americans  is a farce or the African Americans “running” it are a farce. Doesn’t matter though. Both would be offensive. So yeah there are African Americans who don’t trust them as an organization and do not think they have our best interest at heart. So if a player doesn’t want to play for a person who supports them, that’s that players right.

Yes she still works there. Man you are trying to defend her with some reference to cops being massacred by a black man?? Wtf would they have to do with BLM? A church full of black people was massacred by a white man.. do those people’s family now have the right to respond by killing his family? Would that be ok? You’re not worth responding to. Good day sir.
