In case you haven't heard yet Manny Diaz is looking hard to find another defensive coordinator position. He contacted Florida State about their opening but coach Jimbo Fisher is interested in Alabama defensive backs coach Jeremy Pruitt. Diaz could land a DC position at another FBS school but this season at Texas did him no favors. FIU is still a possibility for Manny, which if they were to offer - my advice would be for him to take it.... QUICK.

He can't go to a place without elite LB play. Hurts his options. Maybe Petrino needs a DC?

I think he knows it is the end of the line for him at Texas. My only concern is who Texas would get to replace him? There are no big name guys out there that Mack could pull in.

Legitimate point. Doubtful there are any in-house candidates that could step in and do the job.

Ketchum tweeted today that Diaz hopped on a plane to Miami today. Could be inching closer to the FIU head coaching gig.

I like Akina too but not sure he is ready for the job. If Diaz leaves how about a highly paid Chene Chizik?

Couple Things:

Talked to a player about 7. Nothing has been said to them about Diaz period.

Rumor: Mack would give strong consideration to Bo Davis for DC

Bittersweet. Now if he leaves who comes to takes? Heard a rumor about Bo Davis taking the reins.... Truth.

According to Bruce feldman of cbs perort manny diaz withdraws name from consideration by flu

Should Manny be fired after only 2 seasons? One good, one bad? He very well be might back at Texas next year. Mack is generous too.
