This board has a ton of posters that showed up overnight with a post count of maybe 5 posts. Those posters are throwing ridiculous claims and insults at McPhaul and the other HS insiders. My advice to all of you, next time you plan to insult someone for their inside information, man up and do it before your suspicion is proven right. None of you had the guts (outside of Orangeman sadly) to say a damn thing before last night.

It is impossible to "man up" on a message board.

That being said - killing the messenger is stupid.

Sounds like Mack screwed the pooch on this one and all the "insiders" got duped...probably on purpose by Mack because he was mad at the leaks.

I still think there is a chance Mack steps down, just like Dodds did. But he was able to sabotage the Saban hire.

I dont think people believe mcphaul made anything up, just that he didn't accurately relay the info. Instead of saying saban is a done deal he could have said the boosters really want saban and there is interest on sabans side. But mack and powers could still blow everything up. That would have been a more tempered proclamation.

Its obvious that there was a deal with saban otherwise the extension would have played out differently. I still think mack is retiring i think he is just slowing things down

I'm not pissed at anyone here, it's a free site. If I was paying I'd be a little more upset. I truly think McPhaul reported what he was told. Maybe the BMD's he talks to aren't as powerful as they thought they were. There were and probably still are a lot of dynamics in play. If Brown is being empowered to steer this shit show because Powers/Patterson have no balls, this is embarrassing for a university like UT. I just expect McPhaul to find something out and come back to eat crow and explain. I'm sure he will.

This is not accurate. There are a many a poster that thought the claims asinine and ridiculous for the last few weeks. They have since left and now are returning for blood.

See Baghorn vs WillieBoyBama for the reason for their return. Read that thread and you'll understand why these "trolls" are returning...

A few bad apples spoil the bunch...

But to flame McPhaul is not fair. He was a gentleman throughout and simply reported what he heard.

It is not his fault that UT has politics worse than the Eastern Bloc.

Of course he did. He's 62 and has no time for that nonsense.

When your President goes on 60 minutes and says that you are the best thing that ever happened to Alabama - why on earth would you ever leave? There's no reason to move anywhere. You simply ask for monumental money and get it. Saban feels loved right about now - and Bama nation is safe until he retires.

I love how UT tried to get him, though. I applaud that...

UT needs to learn from Notre Dame re: firing a coach...

Mcphaul does not need to eat crow. He reported what he was told, and you know damn good and well if we found out he had more info and didn't report it to us, he would have been crucified for that. The man reported to all of us what he was told by sources he trusts, and still should trust. Just like we should all trust him and realize things change with this type of stuff. We are not the first ones this has happened to. Mcphaul, get up, dust yourself off, and keep picking them up and putting them down. You were not making up stuff or lying, you were reporting what you were told which is your job as part owner of this site. Please keep doing that job and reporting what you hear or are told. I look forward to hearing the next thing you are told from your sources. Hang in there man. It can only go up from here.

My prediction is that UT gets Mora at the end of the day.

I have no insider information.

This is straight from my gut. Mora is my guess...

I find it laughable people get so butthurt because the info received didnt happen. And to come one here and start flaming the board is just stupid. Sh't happens. I read several boards and different opinions and take everything with a grain of salt. Its just fun hearing the different reports. If you are betting your mortgage on it or something then you are a dumbass. People change their mind..situations change. Nothing is done til its done. I just recently found this board and want to say thanks to McPhaul, Shaunsters and the rest for providing the info. You win some, you lose some. I for one was never that happy about getting Saban,,just want Mack gone. Saban still hasnt figured out how to stop an uptempo offense..see A&M and Auburn..the only teams to score more than 17 on them this year. He may have had more trouble with Baylor, Tech and OKST than people think. Mack will leave and we will get another coach. I would love Vandy coach as someone who has lived in Nashville and follows Vandy too. Think he has a high upside. I think younger coach is better. If Mack is back next year I wont watch a game.

McPhaul isnt at fault here. He just relayed what he was given. The real people at fault are those like Baghorn who stated weeks ago that this was a done deal and 100% and those that believed such obvious rumors as truth when there was none to be had. Theres a reason why the odds were so big in Vegas because it was never a possibility.

I think McPhauls sources had Saban up until Mack and Powers queered the deal late afternoon yesterday.

I know w are all hurt, but I still feel there will be extreme pressure on Powers, and Patterson and Mack for Mack to step down

It may be after the bowl game to get an announcement, but given that Saban is gone, that may actually open up more and even better college and nfl candidates. It's going to be tuff but we need to stay cool and patient.

I would bet McPhauls guys are friggin livid with Mack and Powers right now.

We are at an epic moment in the history of one of the great programs in college sports. The fanbase is turning against the program and it is going to get ugly. The first wave seems to be to shoot the messengers. That will quickly pass as the hate will quickly be redirected to Bellmont. Take it all in. This is going to be a story that will be talked about for ages. We are going to destroy ourselves and the program will never be the same.
