Per the Statesman, Mack Brown has reached a final settlement with The University of Texas.

???????????

What was that 1.3 mil a year until 2020?

I hope he lost that by telling recruits to look around.

So, that's the exact amount of his buyout. He was never getting the wild claims some had of $1MM/yr. for 6-7 years. It sounds from this he's going to collect his buyout and not have a salaried position.

Can anyone confirm. I'd be much happier knowing MB wasn't still poking his nose into things.

Per the news, $2.75 million, plus $500,000 per year as Special Assistant to the President.

dunno, guess he is talking to Powers again.

Hook 'em!

In other words, all the claims about Mack Brown strong-arming The University for billions turns out to be crap.

Again.

Mack needs to back away from any "Special Assistant" role. Considering all the fan base has learned about Mack's actions since the Baylor game, he doesn't have the right to be considered "special" about anything regarding The University.

I understand the fund raisers want to milk the last dollar out of Mack's relationship to all the inside donors he used to stroke the egos of but that conflicts with Coach Strong moving the program, players and football fans in a new direction. Mack should take all the millions he unjustly earned since the 2010 season and retire to the mountains of North Carolina.

No one said billions Asshole. The 500K annual is WAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYY more than the loser deserves.

Oh no, it's not bothering you is it? Well I hope you can work through it with a good therapist.

It bothers me because he has already stolen millions of dollars from my school.

It looks like I won't be needing a therapist because he's gone. I would only need therapy if he stole another $5 million from my school.

Terrible coach, especially in October.

Oh no, did he steal the $3 licensing fee The University got from your tee-shirt? Maybe we can get you on the Sunday prayer list.

BTW, Mack Brown helped Texas Football become the greatest NCAA revenue earner in the country. Considering the UT athletic department brought in a record $160 mil last year under a program Mack resurrected, it's a good guess his administration has brought something north of a billion dollars to the University in the last 16 years. I'd say he's been a hell of a good investment.

Don't forget (courtesy of a hornsports contribution, I dug it up but can't remember who/what/when it landed here)....

Mack On A Mobile....

(SORRY... I cannot get this to load and post properly... I'll keep trying)

Okay, it was Opera not working. Chrome is fine.

The attempted and unsuccessful strong-arm. This is the way Mack Brown ends, not with a bang but a whimper.

And you'd be wrong. But don't let me keep you from the suction that you are maintaining on Mack's anus.

I don't have a problem with the buyout so much, but the $500k a year is a joke.

Some reasons to love Mack:

- Burning Swoopes' redshirt (also hurts Swoopes personally and professionally)

- Clinging to his job for critical weeks that could have been used to build recruiting momentum (including during the banquet) after agreeing multiple times over the course of the season that he would step down

- Using up in home visits that could have helped Charlie Strong recruit

- Asking recruits to look at other universities during his final weeks at Texas
