Quinn Ewers....never in my life have I seen more complaints about what should by all rights be called stellar play.....69% completion....22TD-vs-6 int. His rating was 158...and he is just a sophmore.

Sark has been villified for being stubborn and not managing games properly, but in the Sugar Bowl we got 498 yds.....not too shabby.

Anyway, I think we are in pretty good hands with both. I also admit to being critical and amazed that we even threw a pass in the second half of the Sugar Bowl as UW could not come close to even slowing our run game.

Now, I have a question for some of our "quants" out there...(looking at you NTG)...During the game, the sideline cutie pie reporter made the statement that Sark scripted the first 40 plays every game.....40 plays?....we only run 70 to 75 plays a game. Does that mean he scripts the whole first half? Can someone compare our first and second half performance?....every game?

I tell ya guys, I am pumped for next year....

Agree 100% on your Quinn analysis. This is where the star system can backfire. A lot of people are judging him against his perfect rating and not actual performance. He is far from a finished product, but 1 more year under Sark will do wonders for him. He's improved every year so far. Hope he continues his upward trend.

Re: Sark scripts his first 40 plays of the game.

I think we all know that Sark doesn't have 40 plays scripted, or whatever the real number is, and that he runs those plays no matter what has happened in the game.

Good write up. For #3 paragragh you answered in #2

If you had told me before the season that the Horns would be Big 12 Champs and be one of the 4 teams in the CFP…I wouldn’t have believed you. That said…I’m so happy about this season and the direction Sark has the program going. So many have said (me included) we suck until we don’t. Well now we don’t.

My new mantra will be, we’re one of the best until we aren’t!

An often overlooked part of Quinn's game is that he takes care of the ball really well. That is one of Sark's prerequisites to play QB for him, and Quinn does an exceptional job in that area. We saw what happens when a QB isn't as skilled in this respect when MM played. I appreciate that MM managed to win the games he played, but it was white knuckles time whenever he threw a pass. I don't feel that with Quinn at all.

Assuming Quinn comes back, and I expect that he will, I anticipate that his game will continue to improve. Playing QB is considered the most difficult position in all of sports so it shouldn't be surprising that it can take years of hard work to become exceptional.

Off-topic a bit, but I didn't want to start a new thread. I usually watch the Natty simply out of curiosity if nothing else. I have ZERO desire to watch tonight. I don't know if it's because we very easily could be playing tonight or what, but I'm really not interested.

So, just curious. Am I the only one or does anyone else feel the same?

I won't watch it because I don't have ESPN. I'm easily annoyed by cable companies. I'd probably watch the first half if it was on ABC, but then it would be past my bed time.

I am watching the game tonight.

1) I want the team that beat us to win it all.

2) I don't want Michigan to get it because of the cheating they did.

3) Michael Penix is the best QB in college football. His receivers are the best in the country. This should be fun.

If Mich. runs tge ball any where as good as Horns did they will pound the Huskies in to the turf.
Also they will run till they are stopped. If my memory is right Mich. ran the ball 27 times in a row.
But do not care who wins also no ESPN. and all feeds I find are scrambled.

I think Washington was really fired up for Horns. So far they are lookin same. Michigan would not run on our DL&LB.

I've stated this several times this year that I thought Sark and Ewers received undue criticism from some of our "fans". Funny how some disappeared as we won more.
