Longhorns in Texas Bowl

Very surprised LSU didn't get the nod for the Texas Bowl. Instead they will play Notre Dame in the Music City Bowl.

Which one of them is the actual scaredy cat?

the SEC? or

aggy

Either way, not a good look for them

A&M must have backed out. How else to explain Tennessee originally going to the Liberty Bowl and Arky to Birmingham?

Lotta Catholics at LSU and it's a tasty match-up.

I guess LSU doesn't think they need additional exposure in Houston either. Same goes for aggie. Arky wants and needs more presence in TX.

Would have rather played LSU.  Arkansas will be much tougher for our horns.

West Virginia is not a good matchup for A&M.

WV's offense is number 11 in the country against one of the worst defenses in the country.
WV actually has a fairly decent secondary. Their weakness is stopping the run (as we showed). A&M doesn't run the ball though.

I actually like the Arkansas matchup. Missouri showed the blue print to beat them. Run the ball and stack the box. They are one dimensional on offense and we can have success in the run game IMO.
Maybe, but Arkansas will stack the box on us and take away our running game unless Swoopes has a good game. I'm not sure if he will after TCU.

Arkansas has given up 31 points against some good teams in the last four games, so it will be a tough test for Swoopes to make his last impression before the off season.

Every team is going to stack the box against us until we show a passing game. I would rather play a team that's not great at stopping the run, even if they do stack the box. Whether we played A&M, LSU, or Arkansas they were going to stack the box.

I'm afraid Swoopes isn't up to the task in this one either. The Horns defense and hog turnovers are the only chance for a UT win. Wish it wasn't so.

I don't like us against any good defense right now. The only saving grace is that CS and crew have weeks to devise something. The only way we can win is if Swoopes doesn't lose it for us. He has admitted to getting shaken in games, so you know every team is going to do everything they can to make him uncomfortable. If he can somehow suck it up for one game, we can win. We don't need him to be great, we just need him to make a few plays here and there and not screw up.
