Longhorn News/Discussion (Non-Recruiting)

It's a bit strange considering not too long ago they said he was going to stay. I wonder what drove the decision, money or something else?

It's a bummer to lose coach Davis, but Sark has shown that he is very good at attracting great coaches , so, I'm sure Texas will be fine with Davis's replacement.

No one is projecting the top 4 picks to go like that. Also its Jayden Daniels (Heisman winner). Not JT. lol

Also he only played with Mitchell one year... He wasn't hear 1.5 years
I saw the projection on my Google News feed, and sorry for the Jayden Daniels, JT is the kid from nearby here in SoCal that went to Mater Dei >USC>Georgia > and I wanna say BYU but cant remember where we saw him this year

where could he go at Texas if his goal was to be something more than a position coach, with the addition of the guy from AZ joining staff as an asst DC he probably thought having a unanimous/ Outland Trophy winner his worth would never be higher. We have to expect that after having a spectacular year, when the dust settles the NFL how many jobs will Sark be mentioned for...I wish coach Davis well he did a fabulous job while he was on the 40 Acres, he will be a tough replacement

Going back to your Alma Mater, possibly coaching your son and a rumored 1.5MM will make you rethink your stance.

JT Daniels played for Rice this year and for West Virginia last year.

What a blow to lose the best developer on the staff in my opinion. Developed the strength of our defense. Crazy high shoes to fill.

One of the possibilities that I've seen is Ikaika Malloe from UCLA. He was PK's line coach at Washington and supposedly can recruit. Which was not exactly a strong suit of Bo Davis.
Probably not a bad hire, but we have enough West coast recruiters. We need someone familiar with sec territories. I'm assuming that he's a west coast recruiter based on the 2 stops you mentioned.
