Longhorn News/Discussion (Non-Recruiting)

I don’t think last nights game hurt recruiting at all. The only thing that might have hurt is the Texas “fans” booing right before half.
Sorry but that game was exhausting as a fan, that stadium was nuts and got nothing. Ewers look like crap missing wide open receivers, when he did hit the open receivers they dropped it. X showed absolutely zero effort, gave up on multiple plays that were a yard away or dropped multiple passes. Sark refused to run the ball, he’ll keilen didn’t touch the ball.

defense played their balls off and the crowd gave them everything.

18 processions, 6 points that’s Iowa bad. You can be mad at the boos, but that was the worst game I’ve been to at DKR. Hell people were leaving the stadium when Barron picked up that fumble, and could care less because people knew if we did get it back the offense couldn’t score

I can take the loss seen many in my life time. Defense played much better than I thought they could.

Offense no. Then I read on IT where Sark said his QB competed well.

That about does it for me no faith left in coaching will be no better next year. Unless Sark learns to adjust plays to combat what defense is doing. Also must make hard choises for team not one player.
I don't know how he would have coached his way out of that one. Couldn't run the ball. Couldn't throw the ball. The only idea that comes to mind was the intermediate stuff seemed to be working, when we went to it. But even Sanders had the drops.

It was a collection of the worst performances we could have dreamed of. From QB to OL to WR & TE, we stunk up the place on offense. TCU has a fine defense and everybody gives Texas their best shot, . . but we made them look better than they were.

The drops were devastating, both to a game plan and to morale. You must respond when opportunity presents itself. And we dropped it.

We were 1-11 on third downs.

Again does any one know the funtion of the personal in green shirts (oregon color) are doing on side lines?

Texas games and other games also.
It had something to do with Veterans Day. The NCAA did it all over the country.

It’s 100% on Quinn, he’s not letting plays develop.. he would just throw it up to worthy and worthy Wasn’t even near running past the defender. The crowd that screamed card couldn’t handle the full playbook have no idea what they’re talking about.

Agreed - fans were too harsh on Hudson Card ever since the offseason. He would have a much higher passing completion rate than Quinn Ewers. Quinn will be good in long term but this year was too rushed for Quinn

Based on the data at the time, I don't think we were being too harsh on Card.  Ewers displayed flashes of his arm talent and wasn't playing as bad as he's playing now.  When Card came in after Ewers was hurt, he did well, but there were a lot of cases where he had the deer in the headlights look and would take some penalizing sacks.

Card is probably one of the best back ups and could be a starter at other schools.  Maybe as the season has progressed and he has had more time in the system, he may be able to process all his progressions faster and make quicker reads.

Now that we've seen Ewers past few game performances, I wouldn't mind seeing what Card could do and maybe we could add in some QB runs if Card's ankle is better.

What about Oklahoma state - don’t they have the tie breaker over us if they win out?
Pretty sure they do unless there is some kind of weird 3 way tiebreaker thing. I'll be shocked though if they win the Bedlam game, As bad as ou has been, they do not often lose to the pokes especially in Norman.

I have to disagree. I saw Worthy quit on routes at least three times. Those were catchable balls that he just gave up on. I saw drops by multiple receivers.

So, no, it wasn't 100% on Quinn.

And no, Card can't handle the full playbook because he's weak on the deep ball. Nothing has changed since he proved that. Everyone saw that.

I can agree with that but Quinn isn’t hitting the deep balls and is obviously not seeing the whole field. Ok it’s not all on Quinn.

card may not be able to hit the deep balls but his intermediate throws are where he is best and that’s what is missing right now. Also what he can do with his legs.

anyways just an all around bad game (offensively) hopefully they can right the ship and win the last two with a chance ata 9 win season with a bowl game
