Longhorn News/Discussion (Non-Recruiting)

Tome if Texas ever wants to regainnational status, coaches must evaluate, sign most of recruiting classfrom HighSchool and then develop them. And keep a balanced roster.

The days of trying to fill a couple spots with Grad transfers is over. This is full on free agency and you fill as many spots as needed that way. Even highly rated 4 and 5 star kids are a risk.

Yes it is a lot like free agency. But do not think the top fiveorso teams except Tenn. are built this way. True freshmen have proably conntributed more than transfers for Texas this year

ESPN had made Auburn an ongoing joke for firing their coach after 1.5 seasons. Nobody wants that job now.

Forget about firing Sark, even if we lose today. If we do, we are Auburn.

This whole bit is stupid. Blue blood programs have always recycled coaches. Always.

Since Bear, Bama has had two coaches make it 3 years or more. Stallings and Saban. That’s since 1982.

Since McKay in 75 USC has had Carroll only make it more than 5 years.

LSU had 4 coaches in the 80s and 3 in the 90s before Saban and Miles.

Since Holtz in 96 only Kelly with more than 4 at Notre Dame.

The list goes on and on

But three years is not what you've been spouting. This is year 2.

Your goalposts have no shame.

It's just bizarre that you're even having this conversation with yourself. We've already matched our win total from last year with four games to go. We are still in the hunt for the CCG.

But here you are, shitting your pants every day with mustard-yellow doom and gloom.

I know I said I wouldn't engage you anymore but I couldn't pass up commenting about a couple of things in your above post.

You said, "Since Bear, Bama has had two coaches make it 3 years or more. Stallings and Saban. That’s since 1982."

Since Bear, Bama has had 4 other coaches make it 3 years or more in addition to Stallings and Saban. Perkins 4, Curry 3, Dubose 4, and Shula 4.

You also said, "Since McKay in 75 USC has had Carroll only make it more than 5 years."

John Robinson came immediately after McKay and coached 7 years. He also had another stint there where he coached 5 years. And Larry Smith coached 6 years. But we won't count Clay Helton who coached 5 years and 2 games in his 6th year.

Ah, nice to speak again. Now you have me defending someone else's cut and paste. It appears the wording should have been more than 3 years, you are correct.

Bama: Perkins 3, Curry 2, Stallings 6, Dubose 3, Franchione 2, Price 1, Shula 3, Kines 1, Saban 15 and counting.

Shall we keep going? I believe the point I made is correct, notice the 1 year coaches. It doesn't seem to have tarnished the reputation there. Firing after 3 is SOP.

Just one little slight problem with this part of your post.

Mike Price never coached a game for Alabama. And Joe Kines was the interim coach for 1 game, the Independence Bowl in 2006. So no, neither of those coached 1 year at Alabama.

And yet, they are listed as Head Coaches.

One never coached a game . . . and that means nothing to you.

And you think you're mistreated here. lol You earn every bit of it.
Selective history? Someone was no longer coach, someone was hired and went to a strip club. Whether they coached a game or not, it's part of history. It didn't seem to faze Bama 1 bit. Next.

So you’re saying we cycle through 8+ coaches until maybe we land with a Saban-like coach…..

FOH…

First down we throw the deep ball and of course no where close and every time Sark does that the next play Is going to be a run. It’s a pattern that he does. He’s IMO is coaching for his future here.
