Longhorn News/Discussion (Non-Recruiting)

I dont know why anyone would think the goals are not on the table; of course they are.

It's PTSD from being in the wilderness for so many years. I also blame Joe Tessitore for the Texas is back that every hater turned against the Longhorns.

Can’t remember why Isiah Neyor didn’t work out but kid is balling for Nebraska

so was the 1914 defense; statistically the most dominant Longhorn football team

The 1914 Texas Longhorns went 8-0 and outscored their opponents 358-21. Their closest game was a 23-7 win over the Haskell Indians, out of Lawrence Kansas, who represented the Haskell Indian Institute, now known as Haskell Indian Nations University.

Texas played 6 home games at Clark Field and, of course, played ou in Dallas and the game against Haskell was played at West End Park in Houston.

Haskell went 5-4 that year which included wins over texas a&m and LSU and losses to Texas, Oklahoma, and Notre Dame. Two of their biggest wins in their school history came in 1909 when they beat our Longhorns 12-11 in a game played at Gaston Park in Dallas and beat Nebraska in Lincoln.

Should we copy aggy and claim that year as a natty? Asking for a friend :ROFLMAO:

There was no contemporaneous system in 1914 for determining a national champion. However, Texas was retroactively named as the national champion by the Billingsley Report using its alternate "margin of victory" methodology. Other selectors chose Army or Illinois as the national champion.

JK I always enjoy your deep dives.

Anyone else checking out Michigan? Kinda curious were we that good or were they just one dimensional.

Almost halfway through the 4th quarter and Michigan has completed only 1 pass for more than 5 yards. And that was for 9 yards. Origi is 6-10 for 22 yards. And half of those completions are for 2 yards or less.

Vanderbilt and Mizzou are tied 20-20 with 6 mins left. Vandy has the ball
