Hopefully, he just hates losing.

Last year, he was known for clutch catches and touchdowns.

This year, he was known for his drops, incomplete routes, not extending his arms or body to make a catch, not adjusting to the ball – things he did the previous year.

Which one are you talking about specifically? lol

I don't think he hurt anyone's feelings. We don't know him that well. I think we get tired of the games, wanting to transfer, then not, then does, then not. Its gone on for quite some time. Its a ploy to gain attention and more or less creates a disinterested group of folks, also the story line in the boy who cried wolf. Towns folk weren't angry, they were just tired of the schtick.
Is coach Marion not " coaching him up"?

I hope the new group coming in next year light a competitive fire in him. Cook sounds really good so far.

on the other hand, hope worthy doesn’t poison the water for the new group.

Im betting Sark will figure it out pretty quick. Something along the line of “lead or get the hell out of the way”.

I do know that JaTavion was a leader on the Denton Ryan team. That dude knows how to lead.
It didn’t look like he was happy when people weren’t making plays. Go ge ‘em, JTS!

A lot of his development has been done by his Dad, Chet Brooks. Short NFL career in SF but won 2 super bowls. Now a DB skills coach and trainer so no surprise that Terrance was ready for game action early.
Maybe a db coach in the future?

Re: Xavier Worthy

Do we really want to get rid of the receiver who, through their first 2 seasons, has the most TD receptions, the most total yards, and the most receptions of any wide receiver in history at Texas?

Has he really hurt our feelings that bad?
He’s targeted far more than anybody else.

Honest question are the WRS better this year than last?
I guess that depends.

Worthy has clearly taken a step back, but that could be a So slump and defenses keying on him.

I thought Whittington was a better route runner this year and his hands were reliable.  Of course he did stay healthy.

There really wasn't a good 3rd WR, but Cain seemed better as the year went on and showed out in the bowl game.

Not enough info on Thompson or the other to make an accurate assessment.

Cain is not a starter type receiver though.

im curious why an experienced WR like Milton never got good PT.

sanders (yes a TE) was still heavily under-utilized.

overall I would’ve preferred an offense built around Whit and Sanders instead of Worthy.

I don’t think anyone can really guard Worthy but he doesn’t always run a great route, run to the right place, gives up on the route or has terrible hands.  But when he’s on man is he elite.

I think at some point Worthy got clocked or something and it made him hesitant the rest of the year. Its the only explanation I can come up with. His refusal to adjust routes or extend out for the catch, both where he is vulnerable, kinda indicates something like that happened.

Agree on Whittington. He was money. He was not given enough opportunities in my mind.

Cain showed out some in the bowl game but you also saw some of his limitations. I didn't understand why we didn't see more of Savion Red. He's got good hands and is pretty quick. I hope he and Milton are a bigger part of the game plan moving forward.

Milton eligibility expired, no?

Pretty sure Milton was a Sr.

Absolutely need more Red and more Thompson on bubble screens, quick outs and straight go routes next year.

Between Whit, a healthy Neyor, Thompson, Cook, Red, Cain and of course Sanders, I think the passing game can absolutely survive without Worthy.  Later in the year you can sprinkle in some Moore, Nibblet and incorporate Duce Robinson into the mix in 2 TE sets (see what I did there?).

After the clips I saw today, it's going to be hard to keep Niblet off the field. He made McDonald look slow. TFB says he was the talk of the afternoon practice.

This could be the case.

Some may be quick to think he is lazy, distracted by NIL or social media but the guys covering the team, guys with sources on the staff, have said how he approaches the game like a pro. He is a first guy in last guy out type. Doing individual drills before and after practice. Perhaps it is something on the field that is just preventing him from succeeding. Scared of impact or perhaps he needs his eyes checked?

I actually think he's been a little overanxious to make a move and hasn't looked the ball all the way in. He did take some really hard hits early in the season, but he bounced right back up. Seems pretty tough for his size.

I expect him to do a lot better next year after drilling on catching the ball first in the off season.
