Schools like Texas have a huge advantage in the new world of NIL and the transfer portal, but I am surprised CDC would say it out loud.
I'm more surprised that we haven't tapped into our resources in a bigger way. Addison's decision will tell a lot.

#4 of the 2019 class to medically retire. add in 16 transfers from that class and Liebrock who is essentially medically retired, that class took a beating with only saving grace being Rojo
It's sad when you look at both the `18 & `19 classes which should be the srs. and jrs. the last couple of years.

Just look at the incompetence at both the OL and LBs in these classes.

In `19 the LBs class of 5 with 1 medical retiree, 3 transfers, and Gbenda still here. To go along with the `18 LB class of 2 transfers. Luckily, I guess, Overshown moved from safety to LB.

The OL class from both classes is 2 for 8 freshmen, 2 GTs, and 1 medical retiree, and 5 transfers.

Yet both classes were #3 ranked classes.

That's  Herman, Hand, and Orlando for anyone wanting to defend them.

Icome not to praise Herman but to bury him. But hecould coach bowl games. Best coach since Texas lost to Alabama.

That lost took all the starch out of Brown, lost thewill to coach.

Strong turned out to be weak. Or could not agree with big boys.

Hermanhad his faults either hecould recruit or recruiting services israted his classes. Perfect in bowl games.

Sark jurystill out check him out in three more years. So far?

I think Tom Herman was a lousy evaluator of talent and an even worse coach/developer.

Strong just street-style football, running things by the seat of his pants.

Mack Brown was indeed affected by that Bama game. He left wanting to duplicate the Bama offense using small McWhorter OL. Just couldn't work.

Herman had too many gimmicks and thought too highly of himself

Strong was probably a great person, but he was more of a big brother, but the players needed an authority figure

Mack got lazy and revamped instead of reloaded.

I like where Sark is at right now, but the Ws need to come in bunches asap.

Agree on Herman lack of development of players. How ever the so called experts on the pay boards rated his classes highly. So who is to say

He did a hell of a job in bowl games.

Agreed. Herman sucked except for 1 game.
Then it might be something other than the coaches. OU , Ohio St.Alabama have better luck with several different coaches.

Then several once great schools have had ahard timeregaining past glory

Maybe Sark is the one but only if he can beat OU often.

Alabama has had the two greatest coaches in college football history and one who got lucky to win a national championship. OU has had three great coaches and one of them wasn’t named Lincoln. Ohio State has had three national championship coaches.  Texas has only had two.

We aren’t one of the top 3 or 4 football programs of all time. We just aren’t.  We also haven’t sold our soul for it either. Though sometimes we…
