The new recruiting team is taking shape, per IT.

The new Director of Football Operations will be Vanderbilt's Jason Grooms, and he will bring along Taylor Searels (daughter of former Texas OL coach, Stacy Searels) to be Director of On-Campus Recruiting.

Bobby Brown from North Carolina is expected to be Assistant Director of Player Personnel.

I think Coach Vic was a really good hire, but man it’s going to take some time to make up the ground to catch Baylor. He’s a great recruiter, so I hope he can ??

I think Coach Vic was a really good hire, but man it’s going to take some time to make up the ground to catch Baylor. He’s a great recruiter, so I hope he can ??

The talent level is glaring and we have no depth. But they have been inconsistent all year. Add to that, our star player checks out of games and it makes for an up and down season. 

He recruited well this year and is on par to equal or best it next year.

In one sense, Sark seems a lot like Tom Herman four years ago -- the hottest name left on the board. Championship pedigree. Offensive guy. Texas boosters long ago took their shot at Nick Saban (and missed). Just last month, they took a run at Urban Meyer (and missed). Sarkisian is the next best thing -- college football's best play caller fresh off a national championship. Sark has yet to win 10 games in a season or conference title as a head coach. He is being given every possible resource to do so at Texas. If not, he will come full circle and be the next Tom Herman -- in a different sense.

I will be happy with 9 or 10 wins, even  8, if we stop losing games due to boneheaded penalties at crucial times or poor play calling or clock management. I want to see improvement in discipline and focus on football with no outside distractions. 

I would expect missed assignments and busted plays the first year with new schemes and new coaches, especially early on.
