Longhorn News/Discussion (Non-Recruiting)

The shit storm started with the loss to TCU. It only got worse after the RRR. It reached a crescendo when Ewers decommitted. It remains at a high level because of the Caleb Burton commit to Ohio St. In my book, Herman can only save his job by winning out.
I would argue that everything you just is grounds for him not remaining even if they do win out.  He was supposed to close the border, instead he let it open wide and is letting home grown kids depart.  That's embarrassing and is a recipe for mediocrity in near future.

You're forgetting about the one scene that sealed Herman's fate – Ehlinger alone with his Hook'em in the air. Not one single element about any of this affected BMDs more than that one scene. Not even after the explanations doled out by staff. They won't let that go.

You're dead-on with the recruiting aspect. Right now, the top two 2022 targets in Texas are at the top of the Ohio State commit list. Thats inexcusable.

CDC will have to make a move unless we win the CCG. CDC will have to make a move because the money spigot will get turned off otherwise. CDC has projects to pay for.

You're right. Totally slipped my mind. There have been so many things Herman has done and said that have pissed me off I need an organizer to keep track of them.

Northwestern is way too high and BYU is getting boinked in the backside by the committee.

I agree.  However, when you beat a #4 team, albeit by a late field goal, you earn some level of respect.  If they beat lsu and win out, they'll have a legitimate chance to make the playoff series, which will be more of a nightmare.

No. 17 Texas -- Overrated

The Big 12 is, admittedly, a mess. But Texas (5-2) at No. 17? With a loss to 3-4 TCU on its resume? Hard pass.

Texas' only signature win is over No. 23 Oklahoma State in a game that, let's be honest, it was lucky to win. The Longhorns were out-gained 530-287, had 17 first downs compared to the Cowboys' 32 and were only 2-of-15 on third down.

I know that none of that matters since they got the win. But in a year that is as self-contained as this, the "eye test" matters more than it ever has in the previous six years that we have been doing this. What about Texas makes it more impressive than No. 19 North Carolina, No. 20 Coastal Carolina, No. 21 Marshall or No. 22 Auburn? Nothing.
