I'm kind of bored today, so I decided to watch a little of the TCU and OU games. Imo, there are 4 things the offense needs to do to be consistent and successful.
1. PLAY Jared Whiley ALOT more. That dude is a player and his blocking is fairly decent. Play him. Agree, make him the starter. No one else is making noise there.
2. Bijan Robinson needs to touch the ball at least 15-20 times a game. I don't care if he gets the handoff, flares out to the flat, or runs the wheel route. He is so dynamic. Time to take the shackles off of him. Maybe its time to take the training wheels off instead? lol
3. They need to run more zone read with Sam keeping the ball more or run more QB power. Bottomline, Sam needs to maximize what he is good at and thats using his legs more. So far, he's done that to compensate for the lack of running game we've had. The more we can run the ball with backs who are supposed to run the ball, the less we put Sam in jeopardy.
4. Lastly, If healthy, Whittington and Smith need to be on the field at the same time. I don't care about XYZ WR spots. Those 2 are the most dynamic WRs with the ball in space. Nothing against Moore or Eagles, but they disappear too much. Agree, its weird how its worked out where one of the two seem to be hurt for each game. I do think Moore is a star in the making tho.
To recap, a good mixture of Bijan and Sam running the ball, play more Whiley, and use Whittington and Smith at the same time ALOT (when healthy).
