Wasn’t Graham already a DE?

Wasn't Sweat the one who Java was so high on when we signed him.  If I remember right, he was only a 3* at the time, but she saw greatness in him.

Herman should hire her as a recruiting analyst.

Having Whittington, Smith and Eagles on the field at the same time should be a defensive nightmare.

"Oh football, how I love thee.

Let me count the days..."

176 days.

I think Java teaches at Sweat’s high school.

Hello, all.  I finally have time to catch up!  We have been on Spring Break, yeah!  Took the Grandsons to the UT Basketball game last Saturday.  The oldest one was so disappointed that we lost.  He loves competition, and does not relish losing, but we made the best of it.

Yes, I am big on T'Vondre.  He is a great young man, and he knows his mind.  I respect that, and respect him.  He doesn't complain about the work required to become the best you can be.  He just does what needs to be done.

I believe that the lack of a work ethic is what holds so many athletes back, rather than coaches, or facilities, or dining halls.

Everyone knew he would play in college, and most of the people I work with expected him to go to A&M.  Then Texas started recruiting him.  It was obvious that he really liked Texas, and then he was finally able to visit.  When he got back, he told me that he loved his visit and was very comfortable in Austin.  He was really happy the day he committed to Texas.  There was no doubt, no tension, just excitement.  He was completely comfortable with his decision.

From that point on, he was all Longhorn.  He occasionally made trips to Austin.  He took a friend with him to the OU game.  Our coaches stayed in touch with him from the time they began recruiting him until he left to go to Austin in June.  It was a seamless transition, high school team to college team, one coaching staff to another.  An important part of a high school team to a valued part of a college team.

It was a joy to watch.  Yes, I'm a fan of his.

Hook 'em!

Yes, but he's like 290 lbs right now and not the greatest coming off the edge. So they moved him inside.

The DL philosophy is to get the best four on the field and I guess they think TG is one of those best four right now.

Good to hear about Watson.  Always thought he could be one of the best CBs, but what has happened to Cook?  I honestly thought the outside would be locked down by Green and Cook for 2-3 years.

Before the Utah game I thought that his Longhorn career had been a bit underwhelming. But what do I know?

Agree, it has been. He's had a moment here and there but mostly non-factor. That said, he's experienced yet still developing. So we'll see if he gets to stick with that status or if someone beats him out.

We don't have anything else to talk about....What about Ellinger's rib injury? He wasn't the same after the LSU game and I guess this is why. I heard that he re aggravated this injury during workouts.  Will he ever be able to return to what he once was?  Will he be ready for the season? Is this something that can be repaired and thus no longer an issue?

I ,frankly, have real doubts the season will go forth this year, but in the event it does, will Sam be ready?

If Ehlinger has to repair something surgically, now would be the time to do it. Any closer to the season would not be a good thing.

If any team is hurt more by the cancellation of spring workouts, I don't know who it would be. Texas has many new assistants, some new schemes and philosophies. Plus the coaches need to see what they have.
