Longhorn Baseball Offseason Program

How is Silver doing these days? Hopefully healthy as a lion. I am a big fan of Blake Goins as you know. Love that kid.

We need a big year from UT Baseball!

Having done Crossfit, I can't think of a better routine to play baseball. So much core focus.

Augie is due for a good year and would like Nicholson to get some good pub this year for his efforts. Gotta think Pitching will be strong again so a little more hitting can make all the difference.

I think Texas is a year away from making a serious run at the CWS...With whats there plus the infusion of the Freshman class..The opportunity is there...

Pitching Staff;

Friday- Parker French

Saturday- Dillon Peters

Sunday- Nathan Thornhill

Keep in mind both RHPs John Curtiss and Holden Helmink are both coming off RS years and will be brought along slowly...allowing them ample time to develop their arm strength.. Those two could push for Starting time for the Sunday Time Slot..

Mid-Week- Blake Goins or Travis Duke or by committee..as they also have a couple of Saturday's DH for the season.

Closer- RHP Lukas Schiarldi or LHP Travis Duke,

Middle Relief- LHP Ty Culbreth, RHP Chad Hollingsworth, LHP Jon Malmin, RHP Morgan Cooper, LHP Josh Sawyer

C-Jacob Felts

1B/DH Tres Barrera

2B Brooks Marlow-But watch my favorite-Zane Gurwitz-Mr. DirtBagger

SS- CJ Hinojosa- Looks much more fit, quicker..

3B- Andy McGuire

DH/1B-Jeremy Montalbano

LF- Ben Johnson

CF- Mark Payton

RF-Bret Boswell/Collin Shaw...Bret is my dark horse..sweet swing with speed..

Questions?? Comments??

I think this team is going to make some noise. I agree that I don't know if they can win the CWS, but I think they could make a run. It's all going to depend on how things come together. You know the pitching is going to be there under Skip. And I think the hitting will be there with the new faces.

This is the program that I have the most faith in even with our recent struggles.
