What you guys think? A poster on OB thinks its a done deal and another responded the East Carolina board was starting to worry. I would have tried to verify the ECU board but I'm feeling a little lazy.

Anyway, I don't know much about him but everyone seems to think he would fit well. Thoughts?

I've liked his offenses at ecu. The stats for the bowl game had them pretty balanced 287 passing 281 rushing. They were fun to watch and they beat Ohio 37-20

Ive seen alot of ECU covering C-USA. That offense would hum just fine, and would probably be even better here because we have better linemen and backs available.

Cayleb Jones brother plays out there.

There is some smoke around this. Checked with an old business partner that works at ECU (IT). He said there are rumblings. However he doesn't know if there is anything to it or if the fans are just getting worried about rumors from this end.

The ECU 247 site is hearing rumors they may have a coach being interviewed by another school. I assume they are talking about Riley. They didn't give a name.

ECUs offensive stats

I'll use ESPNs rankings over his last four years

Year - Total OFF - Pass O - Rush - Score O

2010 - 25 - 7 - 99 - 17

2011 - 50 - 18 - 105 - 66 (Dominique Davis Sr Season)

2012 - 56 - 36 - 92 - 47 (Shane Carden 1st year as starter)

2013 - 25 - 11 - 91 - 8

shows a little regression in Davis' jr to Sr year but some good progression from Carden's 1st year as a starter to his 2nd.

OB: says Lincoln Riley Yes he is young 30 years old and very good at the Spread. I love it and if Wickline comes...........LOOK OUT

If the rumors are coming from the other schools, that's good news...so far most info from the Texas side has either been wrong or nonexistent.

Don't know a thing about the guy except a Leach guy. Did not watch an ECU game, and to solely go by stats isn't meaningful.

OSU very different from Leach style offense - remember the Tech line's spreads? Not sure (and just pure speculation) if Wick and Leach stuff fully compatible.

I know nothing about him, but hope his offense has greatly advanced from Leach. Leach only had about 9 basic plays, but each had several variations. But Stoops seemed to always have him figured out. Not a criticism, just a concern. OSU has moved on quite a bit. Hopefully Riley has made his even more sophisticated, or is better at play calls and not predictable. Just sayin'.

Stoops beat Leach, but Leach's O ran rampant - lost count of how many 400+ yard games.

The only time I remember Leach's O really getting handled and beat down was by, sorry guys - Saban. Fantastic cover corners that year and absolutely smothered Tech.

From Lotus Horn on Riley.

"I just confirmed he is in Carolina, and will be through the football game tomorrow to see Crabtree play in person.

He isn't acting like someone who is about to be the UT OC."
