Leroy Scott and Chet Moss have been dismissed from the Texas football team for a violation of team rules. Spring practice starts Tuesday.

Moss doesn't shock me, guy always had a big mouth when it came to social media and never panned out. Scott is a shame, could have contributed.

Agree. Moss didn't bring anything really, not a loss at all. Scott probably hurts our depth, even though I think Davis and Echols are better true corners. The problem with Scott was he was playing out of position IMO. Needed to put on a little more weight and play LB. Scott wasn't quite mobile/quick enough to be an effective corner in the Big 12. Scott actually played a good bit of LB in high school, but was moved because of tackling issues.

Two extra scholarships open for 14 and 15. Guess Wittek (if he commits) will end up backdated.

I've been watching more game film from last year. Alex De La Torre at FB and Swaim at TE are excellent blockers. Not only are they good, they may be the best blocking TE and FB combo in the big 12. Screw the spread offense. Give our RBs the ball next year. Flowers, Hammad, Harrison, Hughes, Perkins, Estelle, Swaim and De La Torre. We need to be pounding the rock next year with Malcolm and Bergeron.

The first of what I assume will be 8-10 departures. Hopefully they get it together on a personal level.

This morning I heard Chip Brown talk about a list of something like 15 players that had been red flagged (my term) that could be on shaky ground as far as being on the team! Moss & Scott I'm guessing were on that list & Chip brought up Daje Johnson! Who else do you think could be on this "list"?

Does anybody know exactly what happened? Reasons?

This is totally unofficial, but the word on Scott was Mary Jane.

Moss had an attitude and work ethic problem, and this stretched back to being in Macks doghouse. Moss was one of the only guys who came out happy about the coaching change, happy for a "fresh start". Apparently old habits died hard and he was moved on.
