Gearing up for the upcoming season!  I'm a college football nerd so I usually like researching different teams to pass time during the summer lull.

Starting with Alabama, Doug Nussmeier left for Michigan thus leaving vacant OC position. Given Kiffin's past, I'm pretty perplexed why Saban would hire Kiffin. 

Is he really an offensive genius?  His play calling last 2 years at USC was abysmal.  

He must be likable given so many golden opportunities during his coaching career.

I always thought Ringo Starr was the luckiest guy ever, but Kiffin is giving him a run. How a guy who has done so little gets these plum jobs is mystifying.
