Road teams are on a roll

Baylor and Oklahoma State have or are playing there way out of the NCAA tournament. WVU was so horrible during non-conference, but are sitting in 4th place, and have caught fire lately. They still have some work to do. Right now, there are 4 teams that are pretty much locks to make the NCAA's. ku, Texas, ou, and ksu. I would currently have wvu on the outside looking in. osu might be 4-9 when Smart gets back, meaning they would have to go 5-0 to end conference play just to get back on the bubble, other than winning the conference tournament, but they have almost no depth now, so it would be hard for them to win 4 games in 4 days. Really if I was Texas and finished 2nd, I might think about winning a game in the conference tournament and then bowing out.

we have two extremely difficult games this week, with or without Holmes.

The race is getting incredibly interesting. IMO:

1. Texas hit the top of their bell curve. As Coach R noted above, the next 2 are tough. It's up to the team to maintain their level of play, or slide down the far side of that curve.

2. Kansas is very young. Within a week, both Texas & KSU have shown that that youth is really vulnerable defensively. Like Texas, KU needs to establish if they're capable of correcting things, or their talented youth will have an up & down final month.

3. OkStU is a complete mess. It's easy to predict that they'll struggle, but even without Smart they've got plenty of talent to be a dangerous team in any single game.

4. WVU & Texas Tech are playing much better now than they were in January. They're not automatic wins at this point - especially in Lubbock/Morgantown.
