Kevin Sumlin is a winner.

doc, just what in the world is going on here!  i had an opportunity to reference BOTH of those shocking affidavits.. and i damn near had to run outside clutching my stomach.  i can honestly assure you, that the officers that had to sign upon the dotted line that horrible evening..... definitely were in the opinion, that these alleged incidents were indeed CRIMINAL OFFENSES should they be so proven!  ok now, you see.. this is the very thing that just kills me with the stalwarts upon OUR SIDE... we need to STOP acting as though we are so much better than aTm... when everyone in the nation, may now see that the TEXAS HOUSE has some very ominous cracks upon our BILLION DOLLAR foundation.  just why in the HELL, are we constantly concerned vs worried about what goes on upon someone else's territory, when we have so very much to be concerned with upon our own acreage?  now, you are mentioning to me that "aTm shares the state of texas where we reside", well, upon my view.. so does govenor rick perry.  for whom has become a global embarrassment as per our great state of texas... this does not mean that every time i decide to blink my eye.. i have to resort to voicing my utmost concerns, regarding this statewide anomaly / clown.  (oh, and before i choose to forget... he's an aggie)  also, by the way doc.. my "point" has indeed a lot of validity.  we need to mind our own damn business at TEXAS.  and learn to incorporate a page or two, as per our new head coach..  LET'S START CLEANING UP OUR OWN HOUSE!
LOL!  Quit yelling at me. :)    One of the great things about a message board is it illustrates the variety of peoples opinions.  And it is pretty obvious they vary indeed.  I admitted that some of your points are valid, but I believe some of mine are as well.  I understand your position is that we all live in glass houses and to this I agree.  As far as cleaning up our own house, isn't that exactly what we are seeing?

And as far as minding our own business - nah, for one thing, I have a large amont of money invested in TAMU and a daughter and son-in-law that are graduates as well.  so, no, I am unable to ignore aggy doings on these points alone.

But, don't be mad at me - I really, really like you - I just disagree on some of your points.  Thass all.

And you still haven't answered my question as to why you think the Big 12 is "struggling".  I'm not trying to set you up, but I keep reading this on several different boards and yet I have read nothing to validate their assertions.

1-Yes we should care about Sumlin. He clearly made the response as a jab at Strong's approach to discipline.

2-Yes we did just lose 5 or 6 Longhorns. It's called instilling discipline. Trying to compare these dismissals with A&M's dismissals is laughable. Strong is booting kids for failed drug tests, not going to class, etc. We saw how Sumlin treated several players over at A&M who were caught with drugs. Strong is taking a proactive approach to discipline. Sumlin waits for kids to pull a Claiborne, Miles, Golden and Stansbury.

3-I will be calling out Aggies for every arrest now after that comment. If Sumlin is "developing young men" I'm going to hold him to his word.

Sumlin had a loaded team with a heisman QB with weapons all around him - and still couldn't win their own division of a conference.

That tells you all you need to know about Sumlin's HEAD coaching abilities. Offensively, he's got a great mind. But he seems to discard the concept of defense or at least willing to accept mediocrity and just outscore people.

Despite having all the advantages that they had, they weren't even the first Big 12 defection to play for a SEC title.

Kicking kids off a team is not the same as having to read the newspaper police blog to find out what your players are up to.

doc, you are much too astute vs intellectual, to really think that i am mad at you.  you know that as well as i do, that in your position as a physician.. sometimes you cannot help but to become an expert upon character.  it very often accompanies the territory as per human nature.  it seems that the reason that you and i "really really really really like each other" is because we both harbor such a mutual respect for one another.  you and i both share an undying love vs sheer and utter devotion, as per the UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS.  you have the utmost / foremost privilege and honor, of being a graduate as per this magnificent institution of higher learning.. me, well.. let's just say that i would KILL to be able to mention those same exact words.. upon a context regarding myself.   i see that you have mentioned about the "large amount of money that you have invested as per aTm" well doc, you are certainly not alone here.  my parents, are also a bit heavily invested financial wise as per aTm.  one of my sister's roxanne.. graduated with honors as per aTm.  my youngest sister, nichelle.. graduated with honors as per baylor.  so, there is another aspect that our family's share in common.. a financial stake as per TEXAS institutions of higher learning.  doc, i have stated upon many many many of my prior posting's regarding my affiliations as per a large variety of LONGHORN NATION forums / websites.  therefore, i cannot help but harbor a very large amount of respect, as per the large variety of opinions, thoughts, and sometimes sheer vs utter madness of the many UT stalwarts around this huge world of ours.  but i am also astute enough, to understand that these forums vs websites.. must be handled with the foremost care and respect.  if it is not handled with care.. then the website shall become obsolete, and it dies a slow death.  therefore, this is one of the very reason's that i become a bit angry to some degree.. as per some of this dialogue / discourse.

many of our stalwarts, are running roughshod over each other's discourse.  they tend to jump in and out of ongoing posts / threads.. without fully understanding a poster's true positions.  just take a good look above our posting.. and see just how many times, that i have had to recant my actual true positions regarding my stance as per coach charlie strong.  how dare anyone actually think, that i monarch, would harbor an adverse discourse upon such an honorable man.. is simply incredible.  it just goes to show you, that they are not really comprehending each other's postings.   why is it so very important for you to know.. just why other's are hereby stating that our BIG 12 conference is struggling? i guess that my most immediate query could be to you.. asking just why do you think that the BIG 12 has become vs remained so very progressive?  either way, it shall become a bit of a struggle to espouse upon.. in a most comprehensive manner.  i guess that i can mention just this much for now.  upon my view doc.. it's our IMAGE!  actually, that should satisfy your curiosity right there.  the overall image upon my view as per the BIG 12 conference.. is an utter disaster.  just look at how this nation now view's the BIG 12.. as a weakened relic of past decades old glory.  enough said!

doc, did you know that i somewhat held your back upon the OB?  yes yes, i did.  you had initiated a thread regarding something about aTm, and the other poster's immediately started throwing jibes.  but hey, it's the OB.. it's to be expected.  just go into your thread upon the OB and search downward as per "winmal" and that's me.  at some point, i wanted to change my user id to monarch, but the system wouln't allow it.  but yes i'm there.

Wow!  That was a mouthful.  My brain is trying to unscramble what you just said and I may need some help. :)

OB?  I'm not a member of OB.  Is there a doc longhorn on that site?  Or did you mean IT or 247?

Let's examine your following statement, shall we?

"it's our IMAGE!  actually, that should satisfy your curiosity right there.  the overall image upon my view as per the BIG 12 conference.. is an utter disaster.  just look at how this nation now view's the BIG 12.. as a weakened relic of past decades old glory.  enough said!"

"Utter disaster" - you admit this is just your opinion, but I want to know how you arrived at it.

You state the NATION views us as a "weakened relic of the past".  Do you have a link to support this view or articles you can refer to?

Because, honestly, Monarch, the only sources I have heard espousing these kinds of opinions have been the aggys and the SEC goobers - but mostly the aggys.  Beyond that, I have heard nothing detrimental about the Big 12.  On the contrary, all I have heard is the conference is, unequivocally, one of the 5 national power conferences..

It's true that UT and OU have not been as nationally relevant these past few years.  But we know the reasons for this.  And the fact is, Monarch, conferences reputations and power levels have always been only as good as their bell cow teams have performed.

Let's take a look, shall we?  Below are the five conferences and I will list the power teams and the weak sisters as well:

Big 12 - Power teams - Texas and OU.  Weak teams - KU, ISU, maybe WVU

SEC - Power teams - Bama, LSU, Georgia, Auburn.   Weak teams - Vandy, Miss State, aggy, Kentucky

PAC 12 - Power teams - USC, Stanford, Oregon.  Weak teams - CU, ASU, Cal, Arizona, Utah

ACC - Power teams - FSU, Clemson.  Weak Teams - everyone else

All the conferences have more members than the Big 12, so the ratios are skewed.

So, if the Power Teams have down years, what are their reputations - disasters?

So, I submit you have been spending too much time on the SEC sites and are buying into their crap.  The SEC is on top today, but yesterday they were nowhere to be found and tomorrow they may be gone again and the Big 12 will be on top.  Who knows - college football is cyclical and always has been.

If the Big12 is an "utter disaster" why did the SEC agree to play their highest-profile, non-playoff bowls against us?  Sugar Bowl & Cotton Bowl.  A curious decision by Mike Slive and their leadership.

Remind aggies that their average finish was 6th in the Big12.

i am almost certain that is was the OB.. or heck, now it could very well be 247.  i shall now have to perform some sort of research.  as you are equally abreast.. those threads go by very fast.  however, yes.  the post was indeed initiated as per a "doc longhorn".   this is why i thought that it was you.  unlike many of our UT stalwarts.  i never ever ever venture unto an SEC site, as per any purposes.  i just do not harbor an interest.. not to mention any time as per any form of SEC experience.  doc, i am not about to head into a discourse / dialogue.. regarding the virtues vs non virtues as per the BIG 12 conference.  for if i was to try and entertain this profound discourse... you and i would end up going on and on and on and on and on and on... until i end up looking like moses.  and i guess after that, i shall become empowered enough.. to just part the red sea...

dude, why don't you try accommodating yourself with a poster's actual position.. before jumping in and out of ( A vs B ) conversations without an actual clue.  i tell you what mr. primal, why don't you try referencing my very long posts that i have just completed as per java.. and maybe, you shall become a bit more acquainted with my actual position upon this matter.  also, i have never taken a position of "telling others what subjects to talk about".  i was only answering doc longhorns message to myself.  i am man enough to stand pat upon my positions of minding my own business, as well as not constantly denigrating other players from competing institutions.  especially, when our very own players are simply no better than theirs.  i try very hard to align myself upon the very same course as coach charlie strong.. by not becoming an advocate of hate, denigration, and adverse discourse.  i take being a stalwart as per the UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS very serious.  i shall only advocate representing our great university with class, honor, and a bit of self respect.  just the same way that coach strong does....
Dude I've tried to read your long post and I have a difficult time. Your writing gives me a headache most of the time.

oh really!  dude, please allow for me to still a page as per our dear friend "echeese".  the next time that you try in earnest to reference one of my LONG posting's.. please try taking a bit of Midol.  it shall prevent your incoming headache.. all the while allowing for you to perform your next "selfie" with the foremost grace and precision.

Thanks for reminding me, I'm out of Midol. However, since my doctor has put me on a limit of reading your post, I've really cut down. Good to see you writing a shorter post, that's all my small brain can take. Also, thanks for not using your usual obnoxious fonts.

"Let's meander, oh Leander.."  This is all I remember of their fight song.  Their spring football is where i first tasted cabrito (baby goat).  The players fathers would come out to the field and Bar BQ - after practice.  Outstanding Bar BQ if you have never tried it.  I was just a kid and my uncle was the head football coach there.

But this is the first I have heard of another using my name.  I should sue. :)
