Aggy: Thanks for letting us whip your a$$ on your own network.
Me: Yeah, but not sure that was an a$$ kicking" so much as 8-1.
Aggy: Well, who won the series? Thats right! We did!
Me: Um. No. There's one more game. You have to beat us twice.

Aggy: (silence)

Based on reactions last night, winning that game was akin to winning the Regional for A&M. Winning 3 games in the tournament is exceeding expectations for them - accordingly, I haven't seen one reference to tonight's game.

thanks for watching it on our network.  we appreciate the contribution.

maybe we can return the favor sometime.

oh wait, no we can't.  oh well.

very similar. he had no idea whatsoever where the ball was going when he released it. my personal favorite was the 40-foot fastball.

Jim,

I've seen some say that LS has a slightly different release point and doesn't have 100% consistency in his motion/delivery (compounding the release point problem). If true, is that something that coaching can refine or is that a problem that typically plagues a pitcher throughout their career?

have you watched him? his arm action is so loose and has so many moving parts, it is no wonder he has no consistent release point. I think his delivery is awful, and it may be too late to impact him by coaching. I am sure Skip Johnson is doing all he can.

Shiraldi has bad control problems. That said, the A&M pitcher was just outstanding, and seemed to get stronger the longer he pitched. Pretty good for a freshman.

I hope our guys can come back and win tonight.

except that it almost took out our catcher who couldn't handle the bad hop

also, he should have had the courtesy to replace his divot

Also ESPNU
FYI, don't let the program description fool you if you have DirecTV and are looking at the channel lineup. ESPNU and ESPN2 have both been listed as showing "College Softball" the past few days, while they actually have been showing college baseball.

Can't wait to hear the update on this on this one tomorrow, do what slim said. We let you stick around so you'd give us one more game of revenues. :)
