as an aside, I learned a long time ago not to get on those guys to much because it really isn't going to do any good, but that son of a buck is the worst ball and strike umpire in the world, I would scratch him from a 2a game in Tahoka, why John Bible still works him I have no clue.

2015 Big 12 Baseball Telecast Schedule Announced
Texas to be featured three times
Irving, Texas - The Big 12 Conference along with the league's television partners, FOX and ESPN, have announced the Conference's telecast schedule for the 2015 Big 12 baseball season.

Seven regular season contests will feature all nine of the league's squads, while the Phillips 66 Big 12 Baseball Championship will be shown in its entirety, including a national telecast of the final on Fox Sports 1. For the third year in a row, all contests leading up to Sunday's championship game will be televised on FOX College Sports (FCS) with the finale set for Noon CT on FOX Sports 1.

FOX will carry five regular season games between FS1 and FOX Sports Regional Networks starting with the series finale of West Virginia at Texas on Sunday, March 15.

Texas will be featured three times total with a pair of ESPNU telecasts for its road series at Oklahoma state as both Saturday, April 4, and Sunday, April 5, games will be carried on ESPNU.

Longhorn Network is set to air all 28 of Texas' home games outside of the March 15 contest vs. West Virginia.

Barring injury, French, Hollingsworth and Sawyer. Johnston closing. Duke, Clemens, etc out of the pen. Let me sit down and look again tonight but that's my thought off the top of my head. French is a wild card, because he has expressed a desire to close, so I'm not 100% on how that plays out. It will take a while to see it evolve. Skip is an extremely smart guy with his pitchers. Guarantee ya he has a master plan in place.

There are 16 pitchers on the roster. Every manager in the country has to be jealous of the arsenal that Skip and Augie have at their disposal. This is a very deep bullpen

3 Seniors

3 Juniors

5 Sophomores

5 Freshmen

First, let's assume that Parker French is the Friday starter and is not the closer.

That makes a three-game weekend rotation look like this:

Starting Rotation/Closer:

Friday: RHP Parker French (Sr)

Saturday: RHP Kacy Clemens (So)

Sunday: RHP Chad Hollingsworth (Jr)

Closer: RHP Kyle Johnston (Fr)

That said, I think we will see quite a bit of shuffling in the Sat/Sun starters, depending upon what type of lineup we are facing.

Clemens and Hollingsworth are both RHPs.

When the opponents' lineups dictate, I think there is a chance that we see LHPs Sawyer and Culbreth put in one or both of those spots.

Bullpen:

LHP Josh Sawyer (So)

LHP Ty Culbreth (Jr)

LHP Travis Duke (Jr)

RHP Tyler Schimpf (Fr)

RHP Ty Marlow (RS-Sr)

RHP Andy McGuire (So)

RHP Blake Goins (So)

LHP Jon Malmin (So)

LHP Kirby Bellow (Sr)

RHP Parker Joe Robinson (Fr)

RHP Connor Mayes (Fr)

RHP Jake McKenzie (Fr)

Of the remaining not discussed above, out of the bullpen I think we will see a steady dose of the following this year; Duke, Schimpf, McGuire, Goins, Malmin, Mayes & Robinson.

If I'm a betting man, I'd say that we will see 2 of the freshmen RS this year.

All of this is barring injury, of course.

One thing to keep in mind, this can and will change as the season rolls on. Skip is a master at utilizing the talent he has on the bump. French very well may be the closer at some point. He has the mentality to do so. If French becomes the closer, you see a shuffle and possibly a starting rotation of Sawyer, Clemens and Hollingsworth

If Clemens struggles, you could see a Culbreth or Schimpf in there. One of the young freshmen could step up and show the staff that he's ready. You have some seasoned veterans in Duke, Marlow and Bellow that bring an understanding of what is needed in key situations that should contribute as well. This staff has a lot of interchangeable parts, and that's a "problem" most college teams would love to have.

So, I hope I didn't step on Matt's toes with this, but that's my thought on the pitching situation. It's all about options, buddy!

Kendall just moved to D1 this year from Perfect Game. He also has brought Dustin McComas in for coverage. That site is going to do some great things in the next couple of seasons. They really stepped up their game.

I believe Kyle Peterson is one of the owners over there. It was also a huge deal to get Aaron Fitt to come along also from Baseball America. But for my money Kendall is the best in the business. Run DMC the KOP is also really good, maybe a little more Sabermetric than my eye ball test of things but really good.

Agreed on all points. D1 has been my go-to for the last couple of seasons for stats, scores, schedules.

Henderson has never met a call he couldn't miss.  ball and strike, base path, first base, whatever.

I found his cell phone at the ball park and turned it in to lost and found.  i knew it was his right away.  it had four missed calls on it.

But Parker Joe Robinson has a broken foot..

Not sold on Clemens as a starter... see him more of a relief guy.. Josh Sawyer will be better suited as the starter...

But, time will tell...

I agree.  Although I like our chances, nothing shuts down a good hitting team like good pitching.  And Rice has pitching galore.   Wayne Graham always does.

This is what bothers me about Texas.  Last year we couldn't hit sand if we fell off a camel and Rice has always had great hitting teams.

Rice's Sat starter is out. I'll take my chances that our 'uns are better than their 'uns.
