"It takes no talent to play with great effort." - Jay Norvell (9-15-2015)

Norvell did a great job in this presser, especially in the opening 3 minutes. I don't know if he's our long term solution or not; but I could "hear" his experience and feel his passion during these 19½ minutes.

Oh, and he didn't cry.

What J.B. said. Yep, big upgrade in both OC & QB.

Interesting comment he makes about the coaches teaching the players how to practice.

He also admits that Heard is a game day QB which you don't see in practice.

Like his passion, just got to get used to seeing him in burnt orange, after all those years at O Who.

This coach gets it. Hopefully he can make pizza out of some dough and tomato sauce.

Two things :

1) We are not the same team that got it handed to them at South Bend !!!! This QB and OC change has turned us into a team that will compete...as long as Heard stays healthy.

2 Shawn Watson ...SMH

I loved listening to Jay. He gets it.

You can't evaluate some talent until the bullets start flying. I believe one of Heards strengths is his composure under pressure, as well as his reaction time. I also think Norvell on the sideline is a good move. His energy and intensity is valuable. Traylor and Watson in the booth is probably a good combination.

Scipio Tex, in his article for Barking Carnival, said the line played well this week. He did acknowledge their strengths and weaknesses. I have to think some of what we saw in the ND game was due to Watson's game plan. (Whatever that was.) Heard will make the line look better because they will have to respect his his quickness. Ty was not that type of threat. He just didn't have the quickness or composure.
