If it comes down to the same paycheck between tOSU and UT, I think he'll choose Texas. Not only because he was a Graduate Assistant here but also because he has a better chance to showcase his abilities under Strong than he does under Meyer. If the Offense does really well down here, we know it's because Herman has it playing at a high level. If the Offense does really well up in Columbus, it's hard to tell if it's due completely to the efforts of Herman or if Meyer is playing a large role.

Nussmeier just got paid around $1.2 mil. I'd give Herman $1 mil a year and tell him to come make magic happen.
FYI, beingreal just posted this on Twitter:

Sources: Strong's OC choice (Watson) is a "hard sell" to UT, but says, "he's my guy." Deal not "quite" done yet
Geez. There is a reason he is a hard sell. He should understand that.

If he stays at tOSU, many will always think it is Urban's offense, this would give him the chance to proves it's him and get a HC gig.

I just received an email from Ohio that is saying that Herman will got to Texas for the right price.
We've all been seen what happens when things get dragged out.

How long do you think it'll take take agree upon a contract, get him to Austin?

...great point...

Well Coach Strong has been told......money no problem. So when will Herman land at Austin Airport.

I'm wondering if Suddes moving on is an indication that Arthur Johnson may fill some sort of role in the Player personnel dept since Strong is apparently bringing his logistics guy with him from Louisville. As for Watson, he does have ties to Texas as he recruited the state for Nebraska. This worries me as Strong mentioned on his interview with Jay Mohr today that he wanted the OC to have ties to Texas. Bedford has ties as he played here and likely recruited the state a bit while at Okie St. Otherwise, unless he keeps Giles, he's got no other coaches with any ties. Not sure what's going on at this point, but Herman definitely has Texas ties to the program and the state unlike Watson.

tOSU will match one bump in salary.. Bump up 2 spots on the pay scale and he won't wait around for tOSU to counter. Offer him $950,000-$1,100,000 per year and be done with it. There are coordinators making more than that in college football and this is an important hire for Texas. He also happens to fit exactly what we need right now. It is not like there's a bunch of guys out there that can fill this role for Texas. Qualified OC at Texas right now is kind of rare.

I tend to agree.

If we were willing to pay Diaz $900,00 we can sure justify that, or more for Herman.

Ill chip in $10

I just read another interesting name that fits the description...

Kyle Shanahan

Thoughts?

He has made a lot of predictions that when they didn't come true he deleted them.
Chip has been dead on with all of this coaching stuff. He typically doesn't say anything until it's pretty close to done
