How Does Aggy Do?

Give me a reason why you should feel this way: "Next year might be Spurrier's best team since he's been at South Carolina". They lose almost every big name they have and haven't recruited near as well as a team like LSU to just reload. Also, your claim that Mississippi State nearly beat A&M twice in these past two seasons is a fallacy. In 2012, the game was over by halftime and 2013 was a blowout until our D gave up a couple of late TDs that weren't going to win the game, no fan in that stadium was scared that we would lose that game even during the comeback.

South Carolina is returning a good QB and a stud running back (maybe the best running back in the SEC). They are also returning almost their entire offensive line. They are going to line up and just pound it down A&M's throat. South Carolina really isn't losing much on defense other then the defensive line..........Go check out their recruiting though they have 2 to 3 of the best JUCO players in the country coming in that play on the defensive line. Clowney isn't that huge of a loss IMO, he underachieved big time this year (only had like 3 sacks). If South Carolina doesn't win the SEC East next year I would be shocked.

I guess you are responding to someone else about Miss. State. If you don't think the game was close this year though with Miss. State I don't know what to say. Miss. State was in that game until the very end.

I don't understand the Dylan Thompson love, he is an average QB and the stats say so as well, less than a 60% completion rate and a QBR around 70 in his career. Davis is a great back and Wilds is solid as a back to spare him. They lose Bruce Ellington who was their go to guy (Evans) in obvious passing downs, Shaq Roland should ease the burden a little here. Once again, none of these vaunted returning OL were even good enough to garner All-SEC Honorable Mention. They are losing their whole DL (Quarles, Sutton, Clowney), their best player in the secondary (Vic Hampton) and a multi-year starter opposite him in Jimmy Legree. Expecting a couple of JUCOs (#18 and #60 in rankings) to even remotely replace the production of three multi-year starters with great production on the DL is absurd. FWIW, the guy from the Texas JUCO is a highly underrated pass rusher. I don't mind A&M being picked on via a Horn forum, but at least make reasonable statements that can be backed up. Neither Miss. State, nor South Carolina are these world beaters that you posters are claiming them to be.

aggy would have lost to Ole Miss, Miss. St., Arkansas, and Duke without Manziel this year. If you adjust those wins to losses in 2013 you get 4-9. Their offense will drop off in 2014 just as their defense did in 2013 and they play SC instead of Vanderbilt in 2014. aggy is looking at a 4-5 win season at best in 2014 even if they miraculously improve to average on defense. And all their 2014 recruits with a clue will be wondering what they were thinking when they bought into the Manziel aggy hype.

When have I said Miss. State is a world beater? Said I think they have a shot at beating A&M and finishing around 3rd in the SEC West, that doesn't mean they are "world beaters".

Dylan Thompson has experience, in a conference where a whole bunch of QB's will not in the SEC next year. Can't devalue experience at QB. They are losing Ellington but they have Byrd and Roland that can easily step up at receiver. I could give two craps about SEC honorable mentions for the offensive line, I saw the production from their running game this year on the field. Other then the defensive line, the defense isn't taking a huge hit. Have plenty of depth in the secondary. Sure there will be a drop off on the defensive line, but the production from some of the starters this year wasn't as huge as perceived. SC has a nice offensive line, a nice QB and and a great running back. That alone is going to win you quite a few games.

I think South Carolina beats A&M and the Miss. State game is 50/50. I don't think either team is a "world beater" but I think SC has a chance to win the SEC east and Miss. State has a chance to challenge for 3rd in the West.

FYI I got bashed for saying A&M would finish 8-4 this year, and look how that turned out. None of us have said Miss. State or SC are world beaters. Simply, that they both have a shot at beating A&M next year. Both games are on the road too, you will drop at least one of those games if not both.
