Thought I would put that in the title as it appears the clouds are falling over the football team..

'16 RHP Tate Sandford from Lake Travis High School just committed to the University of Texas.

Sandford is a young man that I have seen several times over the last 3-4 months..

Great Upside, very humble, Great Family!!

Can he bring the heat?

What's his voodoo pitch?

No, not his area of expertise...

So, for this class of '16-'17

RHP Mason Thompson

SS Austin McNicholas

SS Andres Sosa

OF Connor Capel

RHP Tate Sandford
Hmmmm. Glaring hole for a Catcher......maybe one from WA.  :D

RIght now he is upper 80's, projects mid-90's by the time his Senior year in HS..

With Dennis Cook as the pitching coach out at Lake Travis, watch for Cook to develop Sandfiord with a slider..

Here is some more good news - Catalon will play this week.

Also, I see this kid plays for the Banditos select team, as well.  I've heard some bad things about the dude that owns that program - is anyone familiar with him and is that just an unfounded rumor?

I am very familiar with Ray Deleon... I consider him a friend... Why??

Just to get the facts right, Tate Sandford plays for the Austin Banditos... The Banditos out of Houston are run by Ray Deleon..

Thanks for the pics I really like his arm slot on the cutter in the second one. I can see where the projections could get him in the mid 90s.

Oh, I have no ax to grind as far as the Banditos, because I know nothing about them.  Someone just told me that rumor - that's all.  I have a grandson that will turn 13 in a couple of month and is, literally, being recruited by several select teams - the Banditos being one.  The kid is 5'10", is a pitcher and a shortstop and his fastball has been radar clocked at 78 mph.  I'm told that is good for a 12 year old.

Honestly, I'm not a fan of year round baseball for a child of this age - particularly one that throws this hard.  But his parents run that show and I have to bite my tongue - well, kinda. :)

You know how runors are....Ray Deleon knows his business and is very good at waht he does.

If you need any more info let me know...

Also, one thing to watch as far as select programs.. Are they really year around.. or do they tell the kids that they must take 3 months off.. November 1st-January 31st, with a strengthing program in between..
