Horn Sports Leadership Team

Talked to someone a while back (a good while), but let me know what I need to do to become the Mortgage/Real Estate guy over here. If it's sponsoring HH's, tailgates, whatever - we're open to it. My email is pdubord@prodigymbo.com if that is easier.

We will email you Phil

That's exactly how I found out about this site. It's a great place to get information, thanks for all your great work

A funny thing happened in late October, there was what seemed to be a random post on a thread on OB that referenced this site and caused me to take a look. After reading a few threads I was hooked and never looked back. I agree with Topstarr, this is currently the best site out there and thanks for all the hard work it takes to run a site like this.
I read the same post, set up camp and haven't left since... :D

What I like best is the lack of vitriol, along with almost no "dumbass" posts, i.e., those that are in no way related to UT sports, or people of interest (posters and their friends and family). I almost forgot, no political posts, thank God.

An "ignore" button would be nice. Running a site like this has to be tough because you want to invite everyone, but you want to cater to a certain clientele. One of the great things about being a 'Horn fan is that we have a large enough fanbase that niche segments of the fanbase are still big enough to support a site that can cater to them.

Really enjoy the site.

The "quality over quantity" approach is welcomed and will pay off long term.

And what a great group of insiders.....keep 'em coming guys!

Duke, you hit the nail on the head. We absolutely want to cater to a certain clientele. This site is probably not going to be for everyone and we are ok with that. What we do want to provide is an environment that gives everyone a opportunity to see if they can enjoy the culture I believe some of the former sites we hung out lost over the years.

Most of us are refuges for other sites and we see Hornsports as place we can get back what was lost and that is a community that is built off respect & relationships.

I don't want to implement the ignore function just yet. I 'm afraid no one would read my posts:)

Folks wanted to give an update on the happenings here at Hornsports. Me, Aaron, and McPhaul had a dinner meeting tonight to strategize our vision for Hornsports. First let me give everyone a little background on the site. Several years ago Aaron (bbdude) had a vision to start a UT sports website which led him to create Hornsports.com. I met Aaron a short time later and shared with him my desire to start a UT sports-related podcast, so I started "The Orange Report" with Hornsports.com as the sponsor. Well after a while we both realized that we wanted to take the site to a new level and we decided to merge the two and we became one. After experiencing some very nice growth we felt it was time to brainstorm again to determine how to take the site to the next level. We decided that McPhaul would be a great addition to the site and reached out to him. We met several times and after meeting we ALL felt it was a perfect match - almost as if the stars had aligned. So we asked Mcphaul to come to on board and join the HS Leadership Team. As many of you know already McPhaul has been here for a few months and we are very glad to have him - his involvement has been transformative. Then couple that with the addition of Mr. Cosell and Shaunsters --- and we are thoroughly delighted as you can imagine. Johnny Whisenant is the content manager for the site and does a heck of a job with it. Lukus and Geoff are fantastic moderators here and we are truly fortunate to have a team that is dedicated and committed to making Horn Sports a place like no other. With that said we just wanted everyone to know that we are all united in one one common purpose and vision - and that is to make Horn Sports a welcoming and dynamic website for UT fans to stay up-to-date and involved in the discussion around all things UT. There are many great folks and websites covering Texas Sports and we are simply another avenue for fans to follow along. We hope you will join us for the ride and please let us know if there are things you would like to see improved upon, changed, added, etc.

A BIG THANKS to all of our members for joining - YOU are what makes the site the success that it is. Stay tuned, as we have a lot of great things planned for the site in the new year. Always remember we are a site by fans for fans.
