Yes, Urban took them to a 12-0 record in his first year after one bad season. Here's a news flash for you. No, one bad year does not make you irrelevant. No matter what you say. It just means you had a bad year. And on either side of that bad season were two periods where Ohio State was and still is one of the most relevant programs in the nation. 

So, yes, I do totally discount that you think one bad year out of twenty makes you irrelevant.

The 8-5, 7-4, and 6-6 mentioned in my post which you quoted were not records from the Tressel era at Ohio State.

Therefore, I could have ONLY been speaking to the program, Ohio State, itself. Not the coach, Jim Tressel.

Those were the records for 1999, 2000, and Tressel's first year in 2001. Those were not good years at all by their standards.

However, over the next 9 seasons (2002 to 2010), Ohio State won at least 10 games in 8 of those seasons. And....they played in more national championship games than any other school and won a national championship during that time. And Tressel's winning percentage in his 10 years at Ohio State was 82%.

You are NOT irrelevant when you do that. And it's just plain silly to think otherwise.
