Successful Coaches and programs take advantage of their Off Season training to evaluate and improve the areas of weakness. One problem I have with Charlie is he seems to waste the valuable time provided by an Off Season to not address anything just hopes the players improve because they will be a year older. Then we get into the third or fourth game of the season and all of sudden it becomes obviouse that we need to make a change with our DC or like the year before we are going to make a change with our OC . Then the change that is made is done so because Perrin has probably demanded it, because I truely believe that Charlie would not have made any changes if it were not for the searing heat that he is feeling when he tries to sit in the Coaches seat that is now oh so hot. I just sit and think all of those Spring practices, opportunities to evaluate film of last years defense and to make changes during March and April , but not September!!!! Your a Defensive Coach , but for some reason you were blind to what was in front of you! I just do not trust Charlie's eyes anymore folks to judge the progress of our team and to see the areas that must be addressed. I will say if Charlie does get a fourth year I want it to be a successful one but just as we did for the offensive side of the ball , now we need to do the same for the defensive side of the ball. We would need to hire a damn good Defensive Coordinator and one that gets not only the fans excited but the recruits as well. A guy who can tell a young recruit that we will be champions and I can get you to the next level if that is what you desire. I just do not know who that person would be and I will let others make their suggestions. That is my suggestion if Charlie is to stay.
