Swoopes to TE, so he can catch all those pass thrown to the tight end lately.... OH WAIT!?!?

Now I FIFY, lol

I don't care anything pushing him. I just say you play the best QB you have, period. And I think that's going to be Heard.
I don't think Ash plays another down of football.

If Heard is who I think he is, he'll only be here three years anyway.
No Ash based on what objective info other than he has not played the last 3 months from the reoccurring symptoms. Do you have inside info or are y ou speculating.

Concussions are funny, he certainly may recover fully even after several months of post concussion symptoms. I suspect the symptoms are minimal at this point but the coaches and docs decided to play it cautious, as they should.

This was something my guy spoke about more than a month ago. Said don't look for him to play again because he didn't think the docs would okay it.

He could be wrong, but that's what I was told a while back.

Even if he does play, I think it won't be long before he isn't. I hope I'm wrong, I hope he doesn't get hurt again.

So is everyone conceding that Swoopes will not be worth a damn? IMO I haven't seen nearly enough of the guy playing meaningful snaps to make a definitive statement like that. I watched him at the open practice and if I recall he was not doing that bad. Then again I am no scout. I don't know if he's the right guy or not, but I do know that they need to red shirt Heard if at all possible.

Not at all. Saw him in very limited action and that sorta supported what I had already heard about him. That said, I would be just fine with Swoopes being the starter if his development justifies it. Lord knows he's got the size and moves well for that size.

I think he's too good of an athlete to be off the field. If he's not playing QB, I hope that find some way for him to get on the field.

Because I'm not ready to concede shit next year. If we can get a good JUCO QB or a Sr transfer, we have a dent chance to compete for the B12 championship with the right coach. We were close this year but, did not have the QB play needed.
very much this. way...way to premature to right off next season as a rebuilding year for a new coach. Despite all the total shit and mess with Mack Brown and the program this year Texas was ONE win away from a big 12 title and a BCS bowl. Crazy stuff

better QB play next year and Texas will compete again. Sounds like Ash is going to be back for the spring. Im not convinced he wont be starting next year. I'd still pick up a juco and redshirt Heard

Does anyone think the way college is going, that there will be less redhsirts for qbs and them starting right away. I Ask because of all the camps and an early start going into college for spring, the qbs coming in are more prepared than 15 years ago coming in.

Everyone saying he isn't big enough or ready is wrong in my opinon. Case McCoy is 6'2 200lbs and started for texas at a smaller size than that three years ago. Jerrod heard is 6'2 196 lbs and can easily put on 4 more before next year. Not to mention two state titles as while being the leader of his team.
