All of the coaches that are discussed in this thread are home run hires. It's really just a question of whether they are a solo shot, a grand slam, or walk off home run.

Talked to him for a quick second. He was about to be on a flight out of town. They are feeling less and less confident on Nick and Jimbo. He didn't say it won't happen but the deadline is this Friday, he said they have to have a coach by the weekend.

Asked him about Harbaugh, he said would be a good hire just doesn't like him as much as briles. Said if Nick is out of picture, he will push for Briles. Interesting to say the least.

I almost would rather have Briles than Harbaugh to be honest. Look at what the Ravens Offense has become, check down and a power running set. Do not like at all.

Briles would appear to be lower risk, easier and faster transition than John Harbaugh. Harbaugh with greater potential upside though.

Ugh, that's not good. However, Briles paired with the best DC money can buy wouldn't be the worst scenario.

You have to into account that Ray Rice has been running with a flat tire and Pitta was hurt most of year.

No offense to any of the insiders here, as you all do a great job, but sources are going to feed you all kinds of names as the day gets closer. I could be wrong, as I am on the Saban train. It just doesn't make sense to be talking for a year and not sign, while Mack outing himself from the program, the very thing Nick wants.

I find it hard to believe that Texas would have went through all that work and drama with Powers and Mack only to pull in Briles. I would have thought all that trouble would be for a BIG splash hire.
