Good God you all need to chill out!

Forget Harvey - he ain't coming to UT.
Yep and he belongs at aggy. He is full on delusional enough to talk about winning a "natty" at aggy. LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

That was a hell of a post coolhorn!
Thanks Mike. This ain't my first rodeo where coaching changes are concerned, and I don't tend to be Chicken Little. Strong and this staff are gonna do fine, and that's not sunshine pumping. Given the short time he's been on the job, I haven't seen Strong do one questionable thing yet. He strikes me as just the "strong" medicine this football team needs.

I saw this pattern in the 80s. When it shows up on the field, it may bother you more.
This trend is in the wrong direction whether y'all want to admit it or not.

If it happens again next year, is it time to be concerned then?

I think the worst thing Charlie did was insist everyone live on campus. The Strong manifesto is going to be a problem going forward.

That stuff worked in the 60s. Today's kids are not going to respond to that.

GetHooked always like your post even if I don't always agree as you are pretty level headed in your arguments.

I have to disagree on a "trend" at this time.

1. He has been here 3 weeks trying to hold together a recruiting class, while changing the regime and getting a new mindset instilled. He has a lot of recruits that had more of the "Mack" mindset.

2. Just because Mack and staff wanted a player, it does not mean that Strong wants that player. Sure he will honor the offer, but may not fight if some want to switch.

3. If you look at most cases where a coach, who was popular with HS coaches, gets changed out there is going to be a lot of "thinking" going on. These kids had a relationship with coaches that are no longer there. They knew where they stood and how those coaches said they would use them. That is all gone and started from scratch.

4. The campus thing and rules will cost us some recruits. However those recruits are obviously not focused in the way Strong wants them to be. In sales it is just as important to disqualify a prospect early as it is to qualify a prospect. Weed out the ones that you don't think have the right mindset to be a contributor in your program. We will lose some good recruits occasionally, but we will get some great ones as well.

5. Mack's luxury resort approach was not exactly trending well, if we are talking about trends.

6. Get back to winning and trends will take care of themselves. Put an exciting product on the field, something we have not seen in 4 years and then talk to me about trends.

7. There is no "trend" yet.

I think the 2015 class will be the first real chance to assess a "trend".

Hey guys don't give the aggie posters the satisfaction of getting under your skin Texas is going to be just fine. CS has brought a good coaching staff and some even better recruiters. Lets give CS a chance to settle in. MB took up some visits time that CS really needed. My friends y'all have a great week.
I'm fine giving Aggy posters satisfaction. I just don't want to give them our recruits.

The effect of minor recruiting changes won't determine our overall success on the field, but it is discouraging that the coaching changes don't seem to have shifted recruiting momentum away from Aggy in this state. Yes it was a lot to ask, no I'm not shocked that we're losing recruits and the sky certainly isn't falling. But it would have been nice to catch a bit of a tailwind and so far I don't see one. We'll now have to earn our momentum by winning on the field.
