It's finally here, game week. I'm ready to see our Horns take the Charlie Strong experience to phase 2. I am optimistic that this year's team will be improved over last year's frustration.

What a way to start, at South Bend! Saturday can't get here soon enough.

Amen! I've been passionate about the Longhorns since I first enrolled in 1962. Here it is 53 years later and I swear I'm even more excited now.

Hook'em 'Horns!

Went to watch volleyball with my daughter Saturday and that got me pumped. Not football but I am a big VB fan.

Does your daughter play? And yes, volleyball is a great sport to watch.

Daughter plays for the club team. She was all state in HS but 5'5" is too short for a D1 setter. She decided on UT over playing at a smaller school. Along with my youngest, we've been going to games for years. Youngest got the tall gene and may get to play somewhere. She's a HS junior.

My daughter had looks from some D2 & 3 schools here in Texas and some out of state D1s but she decided to stop playing after high school. District play is soon and in some cases has already started so I wish your HS junior luck. Who knows, maybe our daughters played against each other the past 2 years?

BTW, I want to thank the HS staff and the many board members for all their contributions during the long off-season. Your insight and information on modern day football is being fascinating to me, as I grew up in an era when the only formation was a straight T and you ran the ball up the middle nearly every play.

Your reports on the progress of the team, the individual players, and the recruiting was outstanding. We are now as prepared as we can be for the upcoming season.

Let the games begin! Hook 'em!
