The #6 Texas Longhorns (11-3, 5-2 Big 12) are back on the hardwood tonight as they host the #2 Baylor Bears (16-0, 8-0 Big 12) at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin. The matchup marks the first game between two Top-6 ranked teams at the Erwin Center since No. 6 Texas bested No. 5 Oklahoma 67-61 in 2003.
The meeting will be the first between the two programs this season, which were scheduled to originally meet in Waco on December 13th in what would have been the Big 12 opening game for both teams.
Texas lost to Oklahoma 79-80 in Austin last Tuesday and had their Saturday scheduled game against Kentucky in Lexington cancelled due to the Wildcats pausing basketball operations for 48 hours due to COVID issues.
Baylor remains undefeated after beating the Auburn Tigers 84-72 on Saturday in Waco as part of the Big 12/SEC Challenge.
The Longhorns will have head coach Shaka Smart and all 11 scholarship players back for the contest against Baylor, which marks the first time in 19 days the team has done so.
