The #6 Texas Longhorns (11-3, 5-2 Big 12) are back on the hardwood tonight as they host the #2 Baylor Bears (16-0, 8-0 Big 12) at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin.  The matchup marks the first game between two Top-6 ranked teams at the Erwin Center since No. 6 Texas bested No. 5 Oklahoma 67-61 in 2003.

The meeting will be the first between the two programs this season, which were scheduled to originally meet in Waco on December 13th in what would have been the Big 12 opening game for both teams.

Texas lost to Oklahoma 79-80 in Austin last Tuesday and had their Saturday scheduled game against Kentucky in Lexington cancelled due to the Wildcats pausing basketball operations for 48 hours due to COVID issues.

Baylor remains undefeated after beating the Auburn Tigers 84-72 on Saturday in Waco as part of the Big 12/SEC Challenge.

The Longhorns will have head coach Shaka Smart and all 11 scholarship players back for the contest against Baylor, which marks the first time in 19 days the team has done so.

Glad to see Texas will have everyone back because we'll need all the help we can get!

Question, who is not allowing fans? UT or Travis County?

Not sure, but they're apparently letting players' families in for the game, as well as some fans.

This Baylor team is really good.   Texas can hang IF we hit our shots.  We are just as athletic.

Baylor was incredibly efficient with the ball. Didn't make many mistakes and forced a lot of turnovers. Their guard play is outstanding and that's what it takes to get through the big dance.

Texas hung in there into the 3rd, but just could not match Baylor shot for shot. Baylor is a great shooting team.

IMO, Texas is a very good team. But Baylor is on a higher level.

Ditto.

I’m not down on Shaka.  But this is a better version of a Shaka team.  At one point we were 1-8 free throws.  Baylor is the real deal

Yep, I've said it before and I'll say it again, this Baylor team has a real good shot at winning it all.
