*****Game Thread: #22 Texas @ Texas Tech Red Raiders*****

Everyone is blaming sark for being conservative, which is true, but the real problem is our defense and has been for a decade plus.  UTSA and tech are average teams and we shouldn’t be giving up long time consuming drives to mediocre teams

This is the Big 12, everybody's defense sucks against heavy passing attacks. High scoring games are the norm not the exception. Sark thinking he can turn it into the SEC by running when everyone knows it's coming if a big fail, like his tenure to this point.

I don't disagree with anything you said. Here's my point. Going into this year most of us thought an 8-9 win season was possible and thought that would put us on track with where this team should be. This means that we expected 3-4 losses minimum. I expected them to lose 1 game that we should have won. I just didn't think it would be this one

I'm still hopeful that they can get it together and still come up with 8 wins, ou looks beatable and we have shown how well we can play. Unfortunately we have also shown how bad we can be.

If we're 4-4 in a few weeks then I will feel differently. I'm a glass full kinda guy, but I have my limits. We should have won this game, but we didn't.

As many on here say, we suck until we don't. Here's hoping that don't suck very much longer... ?
agree.  I’m less hot today.

So giving up 34 points to a mediocre tech team and letting tech convert 6 out 8 4th downs is no big deal because in your infinite wisdom everyone’s defense sucks in the big 12.  Laughable.

This was exactly the same as last year. The defense can't stop a team with a decent offense, and our QB is extremely average. Card just isn't the guy, maybe with Ewers we would have won this game. However that doesn't excuse the same old crappy defensive effort
Yep hopefully Ewers can get in there and stop WV on 4th and 5 next week. Cause it was Card who kept us from winning…what a joke.

I like Card's heart, moxie, and commitment to the program but there is no denying that he holds the ball too long far too often. He was not the reason we lost Saturday but it is also unlikely that he is the guy to take this offense to the next level. Then again, if we keep running a dive out of the Wildcat on 3rd and 4th and short to kill drives, it won't really matter who the QB is the rest of the plays.

I’m not a fan of pulling an Aggie and ending the series when we go to the SEC but crap like that should never. It’s up to the home team to ensure there is enough security to protect the players.

No, I'm saying it's going to take 40 and 50 on offense to win a bunch.

Right, he got sacked one time…did u hear Sarks press conference where he basically said he was limited with play calls because of the O Line play?
No I missed that. Diid hear him say he was uncomfortable with Card scrambling around.

Weakest link on team is Oline with 2 freshman starting. Weakest link on team last year was Oline.
The Dline has problems rushing the passer (especially in 2nd half when they are gassed), but are/were good against the run.

There is no quick fix for Oline. Herman left a mess. We will not win in this league consistently until we get solid Oline play.

How many other teams have 2 freshman playing on their Oline ?

Qbs are in place, if Sark gets booted, I doubt Manning will stay.
We gotta hope the lines start playing better.

Guys, what I’m seeing is teams that are struck by parity like I have never seen it.

If you look with an unbiased view, you will see it.  In the end, I believe even the Ohio State and Georgia will be hurt by it.

in the long run it will work out, but this is what parity looks like. There is no excellence, and it sucks.
