Went to the Washington St vs Arizona St game this weekend in Pullman. It was Dad's Weekend, and my daughter and I had a wonderful time. As I was sitting at the game, had I not known any better, I would have thought I was surrounded by a bunch of Texas message board posters. Folks ripping on the the coaching staff play calling, players failures at their positions, especially LBs, DBs, OL and QB. Talking coaching changes throughout the game, (mind you Leach has this team in 2nd place in the Pac12 North and bowl eligible.)

My point is, I think regardless of where you go to watch a game, there are always going to be a small percentage of the fanbase that is not happy for some reason or another. At times, their complaints may have some justification. Most times, I believe fans feel it is their God-given right to bitch and moan about the product on the field, regardless of their level of knowledge of the game and/or donor/alumni status. This is amplified when you give them a keyboard and a forum to vent on.

When I got online last night on a few UT sites during our game, it was absolutely brutal sifting through the cliff jumpers.

We all get a bit fired up from time to time, me included. I say all this to ask that you just take a second to read what you typed once-over before you hit post. While the intention may be to offer up some constructive criticism at any given point in a game, odds are that it comes across as just another whiney fan. Think of how you'd reply if someone else typed your post.

Happy Sunday! Hook Em!

Happy Sunday to you!

I watched part of that game and I almost sent you a message asking you what you were doing as I noticed it was raining.

No rain in Pullman until late last night. The temp at the game was in the low 50s. Sun at times. Actually one of the more comfortable games at Pullman that I've attended. It was pouring in Eugene at the Oregon game though.
Snowed on Thursday but it cleared out on Thursday night.

LOL, I was watching so many games yesterday, one of the few times, I knew I saw a game from the NW where it was raining!

Sage advice from our beloved Joeywa.

There are a growing number of people, IMO, who think they are simply football coaches who are employed as something else. I don't know if its the video games, the fantasy stuff, or just streamlined electronic capabilities that allow us to dissect every aspect of a game and convince us we're experts.

Heck, I saw it a lot with the youth football my son went through. A few parents were living their own dreams out as coaches, unfortunately.

Used to be, most fans would complain about things in general. Now, you get breakdowns and 20-20 I know better. Some of that is good, but it does breed some arrogance thats not really justified.

In my case, it's the Dos XX. 😎

It does!

And my status as a card-carrying, Texas-Ex Life Member gives me an even BIGGER PLATFORM!

Right?  ;)

Yes. However, you still can't leave DKR, grab a beer at the alumni center, and then re-enter DKR. Membership has its privileges at the discretion of some tool who tried to be an AD.
Actually, I believe you can do this, but you have two designated exits that allow re-entry.

Hey, you just destroyed my joke with factual information.... Not fair. They must have modified the Pattersonian plan without running it by me first.

Great post...some here need to take this to heart...Coaching wannabes/know it all's with a keyboard ruin a good discussion faster than anything.

Thanks for the post!

Great post Joey. As a former coach, I don't even sit in the stands at my nephew's games as the idiot quotient usually will make me miserable.

God Bless all of you and Hook 'em!!
