Estelle and Harrison will both miss BYU game

Poor Swoopes.

If he didnt have enough to worry about - he gets the old "oh hey Ty, and by the way you will be doing all this without either starting tackle.  Have fun."

Great news for prospective 2015 O-Line recruits!

Come to UT - you'll get a chance to play early.  So we've got that going for us...
If the Longhorns don't sign 4 offensive lineman for the 2015 class, they are in bad shape depth wise.

OK, so, the grumbling on our suspended OTs is failed tests.

Not of the academic variety.

Chip is not alone in thinking they are done at UT

I will take this down if you want, just let me know.

If they were done they would have been kicked off the team. They might be suspended for a good bit of time, but I don't see how Chip says they are done when it's been confirmed that they are only suspended for BYU.

I think his speculation is based upon multiple failed tests

And, just to be clear, by "done" he means won't play again.

But, as with all things, we will see.

"........Texas coach Charlie Strong insisted Thursday the suspensions of starting offensive tackles Desmond Harrison and Kennedy Estelle would not become a distraction as the team prepares for BYU.

Both players were suspended late Wednesday for an undisclosed violation of team rules.

“You have to move on,†Strong said on his statewide radio show. “You just can’t allow it to be a distraction. It won’t become a distraction.

“We just move on and get the next guy ready,†the coach added. “We have some players who have a chance now. It’s time for them to step up. They’re on scholarship and they’ve been here. So now they get an opportunity to go play.â€

It’s thought that guard Kent Perkins will slide over to right tackle in place of Harrison, a senior who was scheduled to make his first start against the Cougars. Harrison was suspended for the season opener against North Texas and was just reinstated on Monday. Strong announced Harrison was suspended again late Wednesday.

Marcus Hutchins is likely to start at left tackle in place of Estelle. Backup guard Taylor Doyle will likely fill in for Perkins at right guard. ...."

"Any time you’re involved, there’s going to be some people who just think things will be done their way,†Strong said. “We will not become them, they will become us. And when you have 95 percent doing it the right way, there’s 5 percent who are sitting on the fence. Sometimes you’ve got to clear that fence.â€

It has become obvious since we hired Charlie Strong, we hired a HC who makes his players abide by certain standards.

Standards including good moral values and good character.  Be a good man, don't break the rules (of the HC or the law),

attend class and play tough.  Don't behave like a thug.  Charlie's rules have sent several good players packing...some

REALLY GOOD players, actually...some highly recruited that we could have won with. As a Texas grad and fan, I love

to see UT win at all sports, especially football.  But at what cost...winning with thugs and coaches' rule breakers? UT

will probably not win as many football games as I'd like the next couple of years...won't contend for Big 12 Title, may

not make a bowl game...but when we DO WIN AGAIN it will be with the right kind of players donning the Burnt Orange

and White...players of good character and values who play tough and work toward a Degree from the University of

Texas.  Players that, if they're good enough to play pro, come back and get their degree after pro ball. Charlie wants

"men of good character" at UT playing for him; so do I.  If getting there costs us some wins the next few years, so be it.

I'm buying into Charlie Strong and his cleansing of the "bad seeds" from the program. I am patient and I want things

done right.  When we win again (and we will), I want it done with the "right" kind of players.  Players that the University

of Texas and I as a fan can be proud of.  Go, Coach Strong!

Fear my bourbon, for it speaks the truth.

Harrison and Estelle will be suspended 6 games
From who? HornsDigest/Chip Brown?

Steve Patterson already called out Chip's report that Strong stepped in to stop two players from being kicked out of UT, "Inaccurate and irresponsible".
