ESPN: Texas Strength & Conditioning Program

Toughness, trust & team I get, but togetherness? It's a little bit kumbaya.

As long as it all equals triumph, then #letsroll.

That second half differential statistic is unreal. Wow, we were a piss poor second half team last year.

In years past we might assume it's just lip service. But there's a plan to actually do something about building togetherness. That's one reason why they'll all be living together on campus.

I like the biceps, triceps, quads, lats, pecs, delts, hammys, etc., that Moorer is producing. The abs aren't looking bad, either. I think we will have a physically fit team, y'all.

Those were some sad 2nd half stats last yr. wow
As much as I would like to say it is because the opposition figured out our qb couldn't burn them deep, I had no idea that the numbers were so bad. I hope what they are doing in s&c translates into 4th quarter domination and a reversal of these figures in 2014.

Kent Perkins....

Pic of J.Gray in class during "Hell Week."

I been there, but it was usually related to a hangover.

I love this BUT I dont think we can fully take BW to task for not doing this when he was here. Remember, Mack did not want the players punished for not working out hard, or hitting their goals. What good is it to go get a pit bull if you are going to chain him up and muzzle him? All that being said I am glad this staff is here and what this staff is going to turn this team into the football players they all should have already been.

By the time the 1st game comes, this crew is going to have these guys so hyped that they are going to be begging to get on the field...BRING IT!

Slightly off point, but didnt see a better place to drop this ....

I remember adding mat drills in high school. One of the best and surprisingly hard workouts out there. Puts falling and getting up into muscle memory and really makes you body quick. Can't imagine a football team living without that.

The question is, is it because of conditioning?

Every time in the recorded history of the western civilization, once a new S&C guy comes in, it's a new era, and players are quoted on how tough the new guy is.

We had great conditioned teams under Mad Dog, but the populace hated him because he was fat. Then comes Bennie, and the quotes of the new conditioning program are great, players saying how tough it is, etc.

Then, team doesn't do well and either fans throw Bennie under the bus, or still somehow blame Mad Dog.

I can remember when Greg Robinson went to Syracuse and one of the first things reported was the tremendous jump in toughness of the S&C.

S&C tremendously important of course - but the supposed disparity between S&C coaches probably one of the most BS calls. All successful teams have very good S&C programs.
