Emanuel Porter did not decommit from UT today but still plans a visit to LSU. WOW what a twist

There's space left for him. For some reason I was never buying the de-commitment anyways. He could eventually de-commit, but I don't think it would be to TCU. Why would you want to play for an offense that bad and doesn't have a QB?

This is pretty interesting..if true.

Like I said before I hope Texas does not practice over signing...I doubt it bc of CS integrity. Texas will likely lose 4-5 players to transfer (happens, guys won't want to get w the new way of life) so that will open of scholarships

OB had confirmed earlier from the TCU side that Porter committed to TCU. Now they have info saying he is still a Texas commit. Sounds like Porter is having a hard time saying "No" to both TCU and Texas. He does not come across as a "look at me" type of person. I am guessing he will sign with TCU on signing day but it will be interesting to watch.

Had anyone from this site actually talked to Porter or has it only been confirmed from the rivals TCU site? Can someone check with him or his family to clarify this? Thanks and I think this site had the best recruiting coverage today as it happened. Keep up the great work!

I have an inquiry in to someone on the TCU side that will know.

He would be good to keep. He has a lot to think about and is a young man who is trying to make the best decision for himself.

I guess he could go to TCU, but for some reason I'm thinking TCU just misread a 17-18 year old kid. It seems like all this "de-commitment" talk is coming from the TCU side. 17-18 old kids say they love every school, and that can be misread sometimes. I think there was some type of communication breakdown between Porter and TCU.

What a lot of people don't understand is that it's not about Coach Strong's integrity. It's not about what Coach Brown began. Nor about what Coach Royal started. D.X. Bible came to Texas in 1937 with what he called the "Bible Plan" which stipulated the team would win and would win with integrity. Coach Strong was hired to continue that legacy. No one player is more important than what Coach Strong is expected to build upon.

If Porter wants to play for Texas and he can make the grades and be part of something, God bless him. If not, I hope he finds where he feels he belongs.

UPDATE: I just talked to my pal and he said that Porter did in fact decommit and pledge to TCU.

We get that TCU thinks he de-committed, that's the problem. TCU is the only one thinking he de-committed. 17-18 year old kids are hard to read, could have easily been a break down in communication. Right now TCU is the only side reporting that he de-committed. Hell, if Strong goes out and says that Joe Blow de-committed that doesn't mean it's true.

I want some first hand sources that have actually talked to Porter, not the TCU side.

I'm calling it right now. A TCU source talked to Patterson/TCU program and not Porter. Patterson/TCU program misread Porter and thought they had a commitment, when in fact they just misread a 17 year old kid. That was relayed to the TCU source which was then relayed to 247/Orangebloods/Etc. This is why you have to talk to Porter directly.

...does texas really need such a discombobulated player? me thinks prima donna...

Let's wait to put judgment on this one. We don't have a guaranteed lock at QB and we no longer have his position coach on staff. That's a lot to consider.

"It's Saban" has taught us to not take info as gospel. It will work itself out.
