Almost everyone on 247 are changing their crystal ball to Texas. Looks like we are the big favorite to land him. Would be a nice get.

SignUp Now!Strong and Bedford, have in the past used a hybrid/rover position which is ideally suited for a big S/OLB. I think thats where he will play.A&M staff backed off a couple of weeks ago once they felt he was a done deal to Texas. Solid player, really good coverage linebacker, perfect LB to defend the spread, think Thomas Davis for the Carolina Panthers. I'm interested to see if the new staff prefers him at S or at LB.
I think it is too early to draw a conclusion on how Strong will recruit at Texas. This is a different landscape, a totally new culture for him, but I would expect he would be a little slower with the hard sell to a recruit outside the very super elite. I think you will see the no-brainer offers, maybe some other offers they will slow play, and an emphasis on out of state. The end result may be up to 7-10 somewhat early commits in Texas and then the rest will come slowly. The end result may include 5 to 10 late commits within the state, allowing a detailed evaluation of the growth of recruits, and anywhere from 3 to 7 out of state commits.Class?
And a question for you Cosell, could you point out some similarities/differences between Mack and Strong when it comes to their recruiting practices...ie, what year do they offer a player, making visits after committing, recruiting players that committed elsewhere, etc...
Can they salvage Demarco Cobbs? Can't remember if he RS'd. Is he eligible for a Med RS?He is ideally suited for the Rover/Hybrid position likely to be used by Strong/Bedford.
This is good news-- fingers crossed. Appreciate you sharing.Almost everyone on 247 are changing their crystal ball to Texas. Looks like we are the big favorite to land him. Would be a nice get.
