Texas needed to prove to recruits that they needed to win. They have not done so this year. The recruiting dominos will probably continue to fall as long as Texas' play regresses. I don't fault Moses at all, but now Texas must go all in on Baron Browning and Anthony Hines. Hines will OV to Florida this weekend. Levi Jones will probably be much more in play now. Keep an eye out on recruiting. It's about to get interesting.

Too many unknowns with Texas right now. It's probably best for everyone to prepare that recruiting is going to suffer until the Strong situation is settled.

They were already pretty much all in on Browning and Hines. Moses was a bonus. That said, the momentum has been lost in recruiting. Things could get ugly.

Depends who we hire. We will lose some but if they get Herman it will be fine. It was already expected to be a small class.

Would really stink to go 0-3 on Browning, Hines, and Moses and unless our current trend is changed it could very well happen. Makes me sick.

Completely agree. You can only sell "promise" so much. Sooner or later you have to produce results.

Very good chance this will happen if we don't make a move soon.

Well, then, it will happen. Charlie is going nowhere. At least not in the middle of the season. Bedford will get canned at some point. And he will be the sacrificial lamb, so to speak.

Recruiting will hinge on a couple of things:

1. How we do. If OU blows us out like I think they can, we'll lose several in this class very soon.

2. Charlie's job up in the air. Nothing breeds discontent like uncertainty.

The solution to both is to win, win, win. But we can't stop anyone from scoring.

The recruits wil start dropping well before we even start looking for a replacement, IF a replacement is even needed. Charlie could well be back next year with a new DC.

This team is going to have a tough time winning 6 games with this defense. Unless Strong wins 8 or mores he is gone.

In my opinion, Strong is pretty much forced to fire Bedford before OU. If he doesn't, that will be his downfall. The loyalty to his 'friends' has been crazy. Stay tuned for tomorrow's press conference

Strong is 13 and 16 with many blowout losses. I don't see how he can help much on recruiting much longer. Who would want to come here with this continuing trend?

CS has become such a disappointment I wanted him to do well for a number of reasons BUT it's his own fault !

Any word on Herman to the good guys
WAYYYY too early for there to be any word on this. Maybe BMDs might contact his agent behind the scenes, but we won't hear about any of it until Coach Strong is officially fired, which I don't think will be until after the season at the earliest. Plus, IMO, I don't think we'll hear anything from Herman's side until UH season is over, which I'm betting isn't until after New Years

Moses just let everything play out on its own and picked the most secure option. It's a shame, because it seems like we may have had a chance.

I agree, Mayhall.  Moses is going to the pros, no question.  He is one of the rare, can't miss kids, much like Malik.  The irony is that once kids from Alabama get to the pros, it doesn't seem like I hear about them?  Granted, I watch a lot more college ball than pro ball, but it certainly seems like that considering the number of players Alabama puts in the pros, I would hear a lot more about them than I do, and I don't get it.

Hook 'em!

I was actually on a flight from Atlanta to Birmingham Friday with Moses and a kid named Thomas Fletcher. Both wearing IMG stuff from head to toe.  Talked a bit with both of them while we waited to board.   Fletcher said he was committed already to Alabama as a long snapper.  I asked Moses who he was committed to (playing dumb) and he said no one.  Fletcher says we'll get him committed this weekend, I looked at Moses and he said yea probably so.  I congratulated them both and we boarder.  I went back to coach, they sat in First.   Both good kids, but my opinion is Moses was ready to go with Saban before he got on that plane.
