Supposed to be dropped at 8 pm this evening.

Texas got a Prediction from Scott Shrader (USC mod) for Moore to Texas today.

With some recruits, it might be a matter of a last minute "name your price, any price" phone call.

It ain't over till it's over, and even then it might not be over.

I don't particularly like the new landscape of college football recruiting, unless of course it goes our way and then all's right with the world.

I've heard Oregon is going to make a whopping counter offer today. We'll see what the response is.

I wonder if this is the time for Texas to whip out the mega bags. This kid is a 5-star with extraordinary skills. If you don't whip the wallet out for him, then who?

I’m trying to figure something out. How can anybody know what your name, image and likeness is worth if you haven’t played a down of collegiate ball. How can a university tell a kid this is what you’re going to be worth as an Oregon Duck? This is no different than Aggy buying the #1 class a couple years ago. When they decided to allow NIL payments I said this would be a big box of BS. With no regulation kids are going to get money whipped into crappy situations fit themselves. I personally feel if a kid has an agent hired then they forfeit their status as an amateur and should be deemed ineligible for college football

I understand the recruitiinig coordinator at Oregon is the same guy who got the top class in the same role for aggy a couple years back.

I don't know what the situation is here until he announces and more comes out. However, if this is all about maximizing NIL then I have to believe Sark will stand his ground at what he thinks he's worth compared to the rest of the team, not what others may be willing to pay. I suspect players like that can have a tendency to disrupt the locker room so you're better off with guys who are on the team for the right reasons. DM might be one of them, but I don't know.

We still have Ffrench and Lockett in the cue. Moore is still open season until December.

Appears the trend of seeing most of the elite top ranked Texas kids go to out of state schools isn't changing any time soon.

I’m getting pretty tired of this. I say it’s time to break out the oil money. Like they say, “there’s money and then there’s oil money”. I think we can do better than tennis shoe money.

Sark lets these kids sort themselves out based on their personal priorities. If it's all about NIL, he's ok with letting them go so he can maintain his culture that's about education, development, and winning. In the long run, Sark's kids will be more stable and more coachable and less likely to hit the portal when someone else flashes a shiny object at them. He knows exactly what he's doing and I'm good with it.

Word is, DK Moore was asking for $1.3 mil (apparently to match Oregon's offer). Texas wouldn't do it.

I'm not sure Moore took into account the amount of taxes he'll have to pay. Oregon has a state income tax, in addition to federal taxes.

There will be no flip of Moore as long as he's wanting that figure. That's Quinn money and he's entering his third year here. Moore hasn't even started his senior year of high school football yet.

I have a somewhat different take on this. It may be that the NFL model is now more appropriate to the situation. These are professional athletes with limited playing careers signing contracts for big money. What is needed is a players union and a salary cap.
