Can you share here what your contact told you about UT's hires? Was a good read. Dont want to copy and paste it

Basically he said the assistants are good coaches and good hires. Said we need to wait and see how they do and that Strong is a bright guy that will put together a good program with everyone being accountable from players to staff to coaches

here you go

-Not entirely surprised, considering how Coach Strong works. He won't hire you based on your name and "internet" popularity, he's gonna hire you based on your coaching and recruiting. "Its not your red carpet assistant coaching celebrity challenge, its coaching"
-On watson: "You could see that a mile away. Coach Strong is extremely loyal to his guys. Now before Texas fans freakout considering davis/brown fiasco, this one is different as for one from everything I know, Coach Strong keeps clear of all offensive play calling, and two, the real brains of the offense will be Wickline and Koenning."

-On Wickline: "if you want technical perfection from an OL, Wickline is at the top of the list, and I would be surprised if anyone dared to argue with that amongst coaching circles. Look at what he did to Okung. Okung wanted to be a longhorn, and his father sent so many letters and packages his Jr year it was crazy. Wickline took that basketball body, and turned him into a damn fine nfl player. UT fans need to understand as well, that Wickline is not gonna be after the typical 5* OL kids as well."

-On Tommie Robinson:"Great recruiter and even better technician at RB. Craig Cooper was his gem, and if it weren't for the the horrendous injury he had his soph or jr season, he would of been another one in the long run of great miami RB's. I think M. Brown is going to love having someone like T. Robinson around his last college season"

-On Les Koenning:"You want to talk out of left field hire, well this is the guy, and not because he isn't qualified. I've met and talked to Les many times. He isn't your "ra-ra" in your face coach by any means. He is however a perfectionist. Route running, body control, and "hands, hands, hands." If you go to a coaches convention for WR's you want Les as a speaker. He's old school, but he knows his WR position. He fits perfect with what CS was doing a UL. If he wants an offense that relies on time of possession, you need WR's who can definitely be technicians in their routes. Plus he has an immense knowledge of Offenses, game planning and game adjustments. Very UNDERATED HIRE...dont

Overall, again this won't be your red carpet of college assistants, but they are by all accounts a mirror image of what Coach Strong is, coaches first and foremost. I expect this to be a very well balanced offense that is gonna truly try and impose their will on every opponent possible.
