PS. Swoopes was never going to play, because Mack Brown is a piece of crap who was willing to ride Case right into coaching oblivion.
I cannot wait until neither of those people are at Texas again.

I don't know how good Swoopes is. If he is good, I'd give him the same advice I had given previous QBs disillusioned with Mack Brown... transfer to another good football program. Mack Brown hasn't the slightest clue about selecting and coaching quarterbacks, nor does he have the right assistants for that job. Mack Brown's line up of QBs has been a mess.

I am not standing up for any member of this staff but really believe they feel he is not the answer at QB. Burning his shirt was a way to get distance between he and Heard. He will either change positions or transfer shortly.
Just my opinion though.

If they believed that, then the best thing to do for THE KID'S FUTURE (after all, it's all about the kids, supposedly) would be to KEEP HIM RS.

Prop Joe is a bit of a rarity. Although a proud Ag, he is not your typical myopic whooper that is more their norm. He has been on Hornfans for years, where I lived under a different handle, and have rarely seen anything from him that isn't accurate or well intended despite plenty of goading. He will add value to the threads and community here imo.

There was considerable conversation around the thought that it was to give Heard some separation from Swoopes.

Swoopes is also still a very unknown quantity. He could really suck. Anyone watching his passes can see some....rawness, and that's putting it delicately. It's possible he just really sucks and giving Heard the knowledge that he would be the guy for at least two years would be beneficial to his development.

Actually, I think Major inserted Swoopes into the game. I hear Mack was quite upset about it, as he was unaware Applewhite had sent him in until a play had been run.
