Crossfire: Give Me 20

when are we going to get our First, 2nd and 3rd 5 Star football player for 2015.

Thanks

I must have missed it, but I thought there was recent chatter concerning the impending signing of another quarterback (Not Wittick- someone who was possibly transferring?).  Was this just my old mind playing tricks or is there some update?  Thanks for any info.

6/3/2014  I think my answer has come.  I do appreciate you doing a complete thread on my question-    Don't let it be said that Hornsports doesn't do an incredible job- but a complete thread just to answer my question is even beyond my wildest hope. (before someone jumps on me, I am joking).

Mack has a new gig with ESPNs college football broadcasts. Will he continue his role at UT? I assume this is his "second" job, and must stay at UT to collect those big "retirement" checks that were arranged with the university. I recall when john macovic took a similar job his ESPN pay was deducted from his UT paycheck. Was that because he was "re-assigned" vs "fired"?

We have 2015 QB gentry commited. Will we snare another highly rated signal caller, or will it be difficult to get another highly rated commit? What have you heard?

Any news on high profile hoops recruits with UT lean for the next recruiting cycle?

please allow me to start off this posting, by paying a well deserved compliment to 2017 RB/LB DYLAN MOSES.  mr. moses, was presented with many opportunities to speak upon behalf of the 01 june 14 UT Camp.  upon basically every interview, that included mr. moses, he was forthright, extremely complimentary of the UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS, as well as coach strong and his staffers.  i even welcomed the opportunity to hear mr. moses speak to OB, upon an interview broadcast with no images.  once again, mr. moses was extremely articulate, as well as highly complimentary of the way coach strong and TEXAS, conducted their respective camp.  however, to my utter concern, there was one very glaring occurrence that i noticed, and i just could not help but wonder about.  right after the camp was officially over, and all recruits were hereby departing the 40 acres, mr. moses took off his burnt orange t-shirt...

Q  darrell, just what does it really say about these young recruits that immediately commit to a school, that they seem to feel, shall be the perfect fit for them.  then all of a sudden, they start to get offers at bigger or better schools that or more ideally suited to them.  then the young recruit becomes a bit torn / discombobulated between the school that he verbally committed to... all the while trying to pay homage / courtesy to the school(s) that are now showing major interest in him?  it was quite evident to me, that mr. moses took off his burnt orange "strong" t-shirt because he was presenting interviews to media, and he was very cognizant of the fact that he is already a verbal commit to LSU.  i would say, that the kid was indeed very savvy upon his approach to the media.  darrell, what really gives upon this front?  is this particular episode, really a healthy form of the recruitment game?  or should the recruit just not allow himself to verbally commit in the first place?  because, at some point.. the recruits credibility comes into play...

darrell, although this was no big secret, what do you really feel about mack brown entertaining the ESPN broadcast as an analyst?

Darrell, I've heard that the "boot camp" style of program Strong has implemented is scaring a few recruits off.  While I much prefer this massively higher level of discipline and work ethic versus the prior regime, I'm curious as to what you and your sources are hearing about how Strong's approach is registering with key recruits.  I continue to be a bit surprised that we haven't landed more D-Line recruits as well as LB's based on Strong's defensive pedigree.  Also, what's your take on our offensive approach that will have a balance between the run and the pass and how it will register with offensive recruits?  I know Watson does incorporate some spread principles and Wickline is from that environment, but we don't appear to be implementing a full spread similar to Tech or Baylor and I'm curious what you are hearing from offensive recruits.  We don't need a ton of WRs in this class, but I'm clearly hoping for some positive momentum.  It would be nice for a Warren or Newsome to commit and help build some momentum no doubt.  Same with Hill or Townsend on the defensive side of the ball.

Lastly, what are you hearing regarding Dylan Mack not taking summer visits to LSU or Bama following the Kyler Murray commitment?  Is he done and ruling out any other schools at this point?
