Marlow named to Rawlings Gold Glove Team
Junior second baseman is fielding .991 and has helped turn 56 double plays

Texas second baseman Brooks Marlow has been named to the Rawlings Division I Gold Glove Team, the American Baseball Coaches Association announced Wednesday.
Marlow has fielded at a .991 clip this season, committing just three errors in 326 chances, and has helped form one of the best double play combos in the country with shortstop C.J Hinojosa. Texas ranks second in the nation with 70 double plays, with Marlow helping turn 56 of those.
A three-year starter, the junior from Giddings, Texas, has turned 110 double plays in his career which ranks sixth in school history. Marlow leads the team with 200 assists this year, a career high after recording 152 as a freshman and 138 as a sophomore.
A second team All-Big 12 selection, Marlow has also had a good year offensively as Texas' leadoff hitter. He is hitting .274 and ranks second on the team with a .385 on-base percentage, having drawn 45 walks. His 39 runs scored also rank second on the team.
Gold Glove winners are chosen by the ABCA and are awarded to the player that has distinguished himself as the best defensive player at their respective positions throughout the course of the season.
Joining Marlow on the Division I Gold Glove Team are: catcher Chris Hoo (Cal Poly), first baseman Michael Pomeroy (Grand Canyon), shortstop Vince Conde (Vanderbilt), third baseman Matt Chapman (Cal State Fullerton), outfielders Logan Brown (Baylor), Austin Cousino (Kentucky) and Pete Leonello (Long Island) and pitcher Luke Weaver (Florida State).
